    Job Title: Analyst – Credit Estimates Team

    Credit Operations Mumbai Analytics team enables and supports the efficient and effective delivery of credit ratings/information to the market with its specialized skills and assets, consistent frameworks, and economies of scale. We collaborate with DBRSM global stakeholders to build creative, impactful solutions and offer services for the business and the market.

    The Role:

    DBRS Morningstar's Credit Estimates team is looking for a motivated individual with good analytical skills and a desire to learn. This role will provide unique opportunities for learning key aspects of the credit ratings process including fundamental analysis of corporate borrowers across multiple industries in support of analysts primarily based in North America and Europe. You will be responsible for providing data, research and financial modeling support utilized to produce company and sector specific credit reports that incorporate creative insights and support activities across the ratings value chain. This position is based in our Navi Mumbai office.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop an understanding of and build proficiency in credit analysis.
  • Review credit documents, legal documentation, company presentation, credit memos, etc. to understand company structure, and/ or transaction being undertaken.
  • Apply financial and accounting principles to determine inputs for proprietary financial analysis tools and review the appropriateness of the results.
  • Carry out an assessment of a company's business as well as analyze corporate financial statements to develop, propose, and defend Credit Estimates as a Corporate Analyst for middle-market companies across various industries and jurisdictions.
  • Participate in analytical discussions with onshore analytical teams or senior analysts.
  • Track, review and maintain various operational databases to help support the credit rating process.
  • Provide research support and help collect, organize, and analyze data from internal and external sources for use in company-specific and others reports authored by the onshore analytical team
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures.

    • Requirements:

  • Postgraduate in Management (Finance) or CA or CFA charter holder or such equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in capital markets, corporate credit analysis, analyzing credit risk of high yield or leveraged loan issuers, etc. or experience in auditing corporate financial statements at a nationally recognized accounting firm with CPA license.
  • Good understanding of core finance and accounting concepts
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/ or IFRS accounting rules is strongly desired.
  • Robust quantitative and analytical skills supported by strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work and deliver on time sensitive assignments with a daily turnaround.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who is keen to learn, has a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Good inter-personal skills and ability to participate/ contribute as a team player.
