We are looking for a driven and strategic Transport Manager to lead our efforts in expanding our presence and driving growth within the 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in transport operations management and strong negotiation and vendor management skills, combined with deep knowledge of logistics operations and supply chain management. This role involves developing new transport vendors and executing comprehensive transport operations projects and nurturing key client relationships to drive revenue and achieve business objectives.

Location: Kolkata (West Bengal)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning:

• Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize transportation operations and meet company objectives.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements within the transportation network.

2. Route Planning and Optimization:

• Plan and optimize delivery routes to minimize fuel consumption, reduce transit times, and maximize vehicle utilization.
• Monitor route performance and adjust plans as needed to accommodate changing business needs or external factors.

3. Vendor Management:

• Negotiate contracts with transportation vendors, including developing new vendor base.
• Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms and service levels.

4.Reporting and Analysis:

• Generate regular reports on transportation performance, including key metrics such as on-time delivery rates and gross margins.
• Analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's / Master's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field. MBA preferred.
2. Minimum 4+ years of experience.
3. Proven experience in transportation management, with a track record of success in optimizing operations and reducing costs.
4. Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices.
5. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
6. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers at all levels.
7. Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex problems, develop innovative solutions, and drive execution to deliver results.
8. Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and visit company facilities.
