    The Opportunity

    As part of the Global Design organization, the design team is seeking a strong Sr. UX designer for our Bangalore, India office. We are looking for someone who is recognized for their design leadership and known for their domain expertise.

    The successful candidate is someone who is passionate about solving complex problems, is excited by the opportunity to work with a globally distributed design team and can help grow and connect design projects across Nutanix worldwide offices.

    Your Role

    Digest problems with high complexity and propose simple, elegant and innovative design solutions.

    Challenge status quo with attention to detail on UX strategy, implementation and micro-interactionsHas demonstrated an ability to execute, and drive, a variety of design-related activities.

    Facilitate design sprints, workshops and brainstorming sessionsMotivate and drive consensus across multiple functions (PM, Engineering & Design)Define the direction of our flagship product's design as a part of a multidisciplinary teamWork with UI development and backend engineering teams to ensure effective execution of designs.

    Compare and contrast feature experience journeys with competing products and influence feature direction in a particular product area.
    Generate customer insights and influence feature direction.
    Own product experience journey for one or more domains within the product.
    Estimate the technical feasibility/ implications of designs and propose solutions leading to convergence.
    Identify gaps/inefficiencies in the design process and contribute to improvements.
    Actively influence decisions on products and solutions through designPresent and communicate design work to all stakeholders, execs and broader teamsWhat You Will Bring


    Required skill-set:


    Strong design portfolio demonstrating innovation, craftsmanship and leadershipA natural leader & passionate designer who can guide multiple designs and team membersA solid understanding of at least one product domain and developing a good reputation within a company in that domain.

    Work effectively in a fast-moving environment, juggle multiple projects, and prioritize workStrong working knowledge of the latest wire-framing/ design and prototyping toolsFamiliar with usability testing (in person and remote), user research, contextual inquiry, interviews, qualitative design analysis, research reporting and design thinkingStrong written and verbal communication skillsAble to work cooperatively and communicate effectivelyStay current on technology trends to inform and inspire modern design.


    Preferred skills:
    Strong interest in data visualization and enterprise software.
    Have working knowledge of accessibility guidelines and best practices.
    HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3 knowledge, current on the latest responsive design techniques.


    Minimum requirements:
    Bachelor's degree or advanced degrees (Masters, PhD, in Design, Interaction design, HCI, or related field with 8+ years experience in enterprise or consumer.
    Experience in the enterprise product industry is preferred.

    About Your Manager:
    Your manager for this role is Shyama Sundar Duriseti, the Technical Director of Design.

    Shyama has extensive experience in designing product experiences and shaping the careers of designers in both enterprise and consumer domains.

    He is the founding designer of one of Nutanix's flagship products and has helped it grow into the 2nd largest revenue generator for the company.
