    Description

    What you'll be doing

    Using your specialist RAN skills and previous testing experience you will be:

  • Testing RAN features, software releases and new hardware for macro and small cell sites.
  • Planning and writing appropriate test cases to exercise the feature under test, working in collaboration with RAN testing peers, RAN design, RAN vendors and Operations.
  • Identifying appropriate RAN environment for test execution, identifying changes and bespoke configuration required for test.
  • Working with LAB support teams to ensure the appropriate RAN environment is identified and configured for testing.
  • Accurately executing and recording the evidence required for each identified test case.
  • Highlighting discrepancies between actual and expected results, working with design and labs to identify the root cause.
  • Accurately raising and updating appropriate defects related to test outcome, dependencies and lab issues.
  • Supporting the Test Manager and Test Leads in the full lifecycle of test.
  • Executing automation, functional, regression and load testing scenarios, applying solutions that validate the functionality of applications.
  • Supporting the maintenance of test suites and ensures high-velocity, high-quality production pushes using manual tests.
  • Supporting the communication of complexities of internal systems to help test against known issues.
  • Assessing and suggesting ways to mitigate risks that have an impact on the quality of products and services.
  • Supporting the implementation of ways to improve working processes within the area of QA engineering responsibility

    • Skill Required :

  • Good E2E understanding of mobile core networks and the areas which may impact RAN testing
  • Comfortable with 3GPP specifications and the use of the standards to validate the call flows and signaling for regression and new feature testing
  • Able to use tracing tools i.e. XCAL, Wireshark, Cell trace (vendor specific)
  • Experience in test environments with practical experience overcoming challenges and demonstrating appropriate behaviors for remote lab access.
  • Experience of testing E2E network services (e.g., Voice, Data, SMS, MMS), with good knowledge of Core/IN network elements.
  • Must have significant experience in multi-vendor Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions.
  • Understanding functional and non-functional test approaches within a Lab environment.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of testing best practice and assurance governance.
  • Experience of implementation of is approached in the appropriate way and that the results are as expected.
  • Experience in either Nokia or E/// OSS tools for site configuration, PM statistic collection and FM Alarms and Events
  • Test automation to improve the way we test using for example Python scripting, Jenkins orchestration.
  • Leading projects assigned by the test Manager and Leads with minimal supervision to deliver the project on time and on quality and contributing to the teams' overall objectives.
  • Working as a key member of the team sharing experience gained whilst testing and working in an open, collaborative way.
  • Experience in test Management tools i.e. ALM, JIRA, Bugzilla
  • Working Knowledge or test Nokia and Ericsson RAN is a must.
  • Comfortable working with Design and Operations to ensure that the testing
