    Description

    The Category Leader for HPC is responsible for developing the vision and business strategy to continuously improve the customer experience for the category; delivering profitable and sustainable business growth; identifying opportunities to reduce costs; and hiring and developing a high performing team to deliver on that vision.

    This leader supports the broader organization's goals of being the best place to work; the preferred and most trusted destination for consumer and business customers; the preferred retailer for selling partners to grow their business; and an organization recognized for operational excellence and delivering results.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Hire, develop, and lead a multifunctional team of high performing vendor managers, supply chain managers, and merchant managers. This includes coaching and developing entry level managers.
    • Owns growing a multimillion dollar P&L through strategic partnerships, negotiation, selection addition, automation, and championing new ideas to grow the business and improve the customer shopping experience.
    • Build relationships with senior leaders at large Brands needed to support mutually beneficial growth goals.
    • Envision and continuously improve the endtoend customer experience for their categories, including influencing technical team roadmaps to improve the customer shopping journey

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
    • Experience leading multi-functional teams and developing people managers
    • 5-10+ years of experience in a core area of business which could include general business management, category management, supply chain management, or something similar
    • Experience leading a team in a fast-paced and data-driven environment
    • Ability to both lead through a team as well as roll up sleeves and directly own work that delivers results
    • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to influence people both internally and externally
    • Ability to influence internally and externally
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • MBA
    • Demonstrated success leading a team that prioritizes a culture that is inclusive, supportive, and focused on employee development and growth
    • Professional experience in either e-commerce, retail or tech companies within demanding corporate environments
    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

    The base pay for this position ranges from $119,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,700/year in our highest geographic market.

    Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

    Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
