    Group Manager - PWTI & Penta Projects

    Bangalore, India

    This specific group covers the scope for Volvo Trucks Heavy duty along with common parts for Renault Trucks Heavy duty in engine & transmission oil fill & check, Cooling coil, Pneumatic routings to gearbox, PTO, retarder​, hydraulic pump and handling of Penta projects primarily consisting of design and development activities towards installation of Industrial and Marine commercial engines. This group needs to work more specifically with counterpart groups in GTT Gothenburg, Lyon AND with Penta engineering team in Gothenburg Sweden, North America

    This group comes under PWTI Section (Powertrain Installations), of Chassis Bangalore, under Vehicle Engineering, Group Trucks Technologies, which is responsible for 4 groups working in Coolant system & simulations, Noise shields, air intake system, engine peripherals and Penta projects

    The groups collaborate within section as well as with other engineering teams within Vehicle Technology, Electromobility, Vehicle engineering, Powertrain engineering along with other cross functional teams to secure the vehicle level deliveries in the responsible areas.

    We are continuously reinforcing product ownership and efficient ways of working and high agile pace in delivering product improvements, while working to create and maintain a culture of passion and trust, where we work together and support each other in our daily tasks.

    As in CVDE, have re-organized us to be more future ready and in this journey, we are looking for a Group manager with passion to lead both technology and people.

    Your future responsibilities?

    As a Group manager,

  • You have a responsibility to secure quality deliveries & technology developments of the group, in close cooperation with sister-groups of the section in the CVD locally & globally.
  • You have responsibility of managing budget, resource & workload, recruitments & Overall team development to meet both current and future needs.
  • You define roles within the team, define individual and team targets and set salaries in consultation with Section manager & Chief engineer
  • You shall contribute in driving respective VDTs (Vehicle Development Team) with close collaboration with cross functions including respective vehicle/technology streams, utilizing global architecture, components, and interfaces to maximize the output.
  • You shall work & direct the teams with customer centric mindset and shall drive engineering leadership within the team from conceptualization till maintenance of the systems and components designed including the field failures & end customer complaints.
  • You shall interface and participate in PI planning with other sites and ensure commitments towards deliveries by the team. You shall have close interactions with other site managers to plan and adjust for any changes needed
  • You shall Build the innovation culture & team's good contributions in Advance engineering, product/system roadmaps for future product evolutions.
  • You drive operational excellence and constantly improve your way of working bringing efficiency in the deliveries. You identify and implement best practice engineering processes and support the implementation of Strategies for powertrain installation areas.
  • As a primary member of the CVDE management team, you shall identify, participate and contribute to the various management initiatives towards people & business growth along with GTT Bangalore site initiatives & play key role in implementing the culture transformation journey to meet the organization expectations and goals.
  • You will be part of the CVDE Leadership team, reporting to Section Manager - PWTI, CVDE, Bangalore & playing an important role in contributing in setting vision, strategy and be part of the growth story.

  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent, with strong knowledge in design and development on chassis components along with strong manufacturing process knowledge
  • Min 10+ year experience from product development, preferably in the automotive industry.
