Hi, I am Amit Desai, working with TVS Supply Chain Solutions Ltd. as an Operations Head. I am responsible for leading a team of 500+ people ensuring smooth running of the project. I am looking outside TVS for career progression in a lead role and am keen to work with a progressing organization.

Negotiation and Auction Processes & Contract Finalization

Conduct techno-commercial negotiations to secure competitive rates without compromising material quality. Implement Reverse/Dutch auctions through E-Bidding processes. Collaborate with technical and finance teams to finalize contracts/packages efficiently.

Custom Bonded Warehouse Development: 

Developed and established the first bonded warehouse in Jharkhand, facilitating the duty-free transfer of import consignments from Kolkata port

Documentation and Compliances:

Maintain essential documents related to the customs/bonded warehouse, such as Space certificates, Re-warehousing certificates, Bond registers, coordinate closely with government agencies for compliance.

Processed the application for Mega Power status from the Ministry of Power to enable duty-free clearance of imported materials.

Material Movement Management:

Oversee the systematic unloading and issuance of materials within the bonded warehouse, ensuring adherence to customs procedures.

Supply & Logistics Functions:

Oversee material planning and control, logistics, inventory management, and import-export operations.

Import Procurement:

Procure imported components from countries such as Japan and China.

Monitor a 5-alarm process for tracking and expediting:

Schedule adequacy

Supply failure/pickup failure

Vehicle delays

Minimum and maximum inventory alarms

Sub-Contracting Reconciliation:

Reconcile returned sub-contracting parts and manage claims for replenishments due to material rejections from overseas suppliers
