About Anisha Bhandari:
I have been a collector of stories in every sense of the term. From collecting books to writing, recording, or telling stories, the canvas of my experiences has been borderless. My quest for stories has taken me across India and to different parts of Asia, Europe, and the West Indies. The themes of the stories I've encountered have ranged from current affairs to lifestyle, sports, wildlife, and the environment.
After studying literature at Hindu College, Delhi University, I joined BITV as a TV correspondent and worked on current affairs and features. During a sabbatical, I represented India as an equestrian professional at various events across Asia, including Iran, Dubai, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Following that two-year hiatus, I returned to the media arena to work as a sports TV producer across multiple channels. Working with IMG Media and World Sport Group, I had the privilege of collaborating with various channels, including Star, Ten Sports, and Sony Entertainment.
Currently, I run Story Bees, a book group for children, and also continue to freelance across various media platforms. I would now very much like to seek more freelance assignments or a full-time position in the news or sports television industry once again.
Experience
A collector of stories, in every sense of the term, the canvas of my experiences has been borderless. Whether reading, writing, recording or telling stories, my quest for different narratives has taken me across India and to different parts of Asia, as well as Europe and the West Indies. Themes have ranged from current affairs to lifestyle, sports, wildlife and the environment.
I began my career at TVI, India's first private news channel. At TVI, part of the Business India group, I worked as a news correspondent across various beats. Following this, I took a short sabbatical during which I enjoyed representing India as an equestrian professional, at various events across Asia including in Iran, Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore. I soon returned to work and had the privilege to work with dynamic TV professionals at IMG media, World Sport Group, Star, Ten Sports as well as Sony Pictures Network.
As a freelance writer and editor, I have contributed to the print and electronic media through platforms like IANS, India Abroad newspaper, Business Standard, Spectrum group and Robb Report, to name a few.
Currently, I freelance across various media platforms and also run Story Bees, a book club for children.
