Ankita Khanna

With around 17 years of experience in industry and academics, I have been teaching English Language and allied courses at school, UG, PG, and Ph.D. levels. While heading the language learning centre at a university, I innovated language acquisition methods. 

Undoing older teaching practices, I introduced a three-tier model that followed the rules of the CEFR level-wise language learning framework making a shift from teaching English as a subject to teaching it as a language. I have also acquired credibility in establishing Liberal Arts Schools for two universities where my contribution has been instrumental in implementing the Liberal Arts pedagogical framework to their existing curriculum as well as laying a foundation for the schools as a separate identity that includes conducting initial research, finalizing the pedagogical design, defining major-minor combinations, and developing the curriculum. 

In addition to this, I have been actively involved in heading various clubs and societies, managing language labs, developing content, and conducting teacher training workshops. As a language educator, rather than looking at language as just a tool of communication, I believe that it is a pathway to one’s empowerment.
