Ashmita Kaur Khurana

I am a graduate of  Leeds Arts University where I pursued my master’s degree in the field of graphic design, which allowed me to develop skills and attributes that are essential in graphic design. I am also an expert in Adobe Suite applications like-  InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. While working on different projects, I’ve also acquired the skills of conceptualizing a design and choosing appropriate layouts for my designs.

My studies, in addition to the summer internships, have equipped me with the knowledge and skills required to work and contribute to this exciting, dynamic and constantly evolving career. Designing has become my passion, and I envisage building a long-term career in this field. My internships and degree have allowed me to improve my professional skills, like-

Over the years, I have been working with clients to get the right design for them and help them establish their brand. I have been creating designs that inspire me and help me make an impact.

Social Media Manager, Choessi Ajeossi, Leeds, UK (January, 2023 - Present)
- Created designs, concepts and sample layouts for Facebook and Instagram posts.

Graphic Designer (Freelance), Department of Anaesthesiology, HIMS, SRHU, Dehradun, India (January, 2023 - February, 2023)
- Prepared and designed the newsletter for Indian Society of Anesthesiologists, Uttarakhand.
- Created different rough layouts for the client to choose from.
- Prepared and created copy for newsletter, design, production and ad copy.
- Recommended and planned future topics and individual issue designs.

Junior Graphic Designer, Digital Boxitin, Noida, India (February 2021 - April 2021)
- Establish and manage an online local start-up, LocalEkart, to assist in their brand development.
- Developed creative advertising illustrations for various social media handles.
- Produced both eCommerce and non-eCommerce creative layouts for the use of the client.

Logo Designer, Little Flamingo Cocktails, Melbourne, Australia (March 2021 - April 2021)
- Conceptualized logo designs to align with the client's corporate image.
- Created rough designs and layout for the logo.
- Developed graphics for the logo designs mirroring brand style.

Graphic Designer, Hotel Neelam International, Mussoorie, India (October, 2020 - November, 2020)
- Prepared illustrations and rough sketches of materials like menus, brochures, key holders and notepads.
- Revamped the hotel's website and business cards.
- Assisted in marketing strategies and research.

Graphic Designer, BoredPages, Noida, India (July, 2019 - October, 2019)
- Designed posters for promotional events.
- Improved brand's identity by designing typographic and illustrated brochures for the brand's customers.
- Led a small team of 3 junior designers to create designs for Instagram and Facebook.

Intern, Jagran Prakashan Ltd, Dehradun, India (June, 2019 - July, 2019)
- Reviewed articles written by other reporters, edited and proofread the articles, and also provided feedback to improve content.
- Assessed rough text copy for consistency and accuracy.
- Utilized Word and WordPress to format copy for articles.

Graphic Designer (Intern), ZICA, Dehradun, India (May, 2018 - June, 2018)
- Trained to use Adobe Suite.
- Designed logos for their clients Medverb, Webease and Wao Kolkata.
- Developed print materials such as brochures and menus.
- Created a video for their client Veerangana Trust.
