Greetings!
I would like to apply for the position of English Teacher.
About my qualifications and experiences:
Besides PhD in English Language Teaching and M A in English language and literature, I am a CELTA-certified English Language Trainer from Cambridge University, England and also IELTS certified trainer from British Council. Currently, I am looking for an opportunity as an English Teacher and I am available to join immediately.
Previously, I worked as an English lecturer at University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Nizwa, Sultanate of Oman and I worked as an English Language Trainer at Bahla Training Institute, Bahla, Sultanate of Oman, Communication Trainer in HCL Technologies, one of the biggest MNCs, at Hyderabad, India and also, I worked as an Assistant Professor of English at Gudlavalleru Engineering College, India.
My duties and responsibilities at University of Technology and Applied Sciences:
Trains students in English Language of the foundation programme. In addition to training, I also take immense pleasure in engaging myself in training management -- thanks to various opportunities I had in holding some managerial positions in my previous organizations. As a result, I am well-versed in planning and development of training sessions, organizing, and managing teams, negotiating, and networking. My competencies include creating content, delivering blending learning in the classroom, developing testing modules and mechanisms, creating intervention strategies to bridge the gulf between training needs, and training resources and deliveries.
My duties and responsibilities at Bahla Training Institute:
Trained students for IELTS besides conducting various English Language Courses to the students of different levels.
About my previous job at HCL Technologies:
Trained new hires in communication skills in English, behavioral skills, grammar, voice and accent, soft skills, corporate etiquette, and written communication. My other responsibilities included offering structured feedback to the trainees, maintaining performance reports, creating content, and liaising with other trainers, besides actively involving in the hiring process (such as taking interviews, evaluating the tests and so on.) of Technical Associates.
About my previous job at Gudlavalleru Engineering College:
Besides my regular teaching for the graduates of Engineering, I trained the faculty of Engineering Departments in Oral and Written Communication Skills as part of the Faculty Development Programme run by the English Language Teaching Center. Moreover, I use interactive and task-based teaching methods with the help of technology (Audio and Video) in the classroom which makes me the most suitable candidate for this position.
My duties and responsibilities:
a) Trained the students for IELTS.
b) Handled first-year, second year and third-year classes of BTech.
c) Faculty Mentor for the junior teachers in the department.
d) Faculty coordinator for Peer Mentoring Project for students run by the college.
e) Responsible for imparting soft skills and communication skills in the students
f) Prepared students to face interviews.
g) Conducted group discussions, mock interviews etc., which enables the students to face the challenges of their career.
h) Trained the students in neutralized, mother-tongue-influence-free English accents.
i) In charge of the Publication Committee of the Institution.
j) Held the position as an Editor of the newsletter of the college.
About my previous job at School (Sumedha Vidya Niketan):
Worked as a Senior English Teacher in the school for more than 11 years. In addition to teaching English to students of different age groups, I was also a Faculty Trainer.
I would like to apply for the position of English Teacher because my qualifications (PhD in English Language Teaching, MA in English language and literature and CELTA) and my vast experience in teaching English (23 years) to students of different levels and nationalities will match the requirements of the job. For instance, my experience as an English Teacher for 11 years in India, Assistant Professor at an Engineering college for 10 years and one year as a Communication Trainer (Industry exposure -work experience at HCL Technologies) are the strongest base for my teaching career and make me the most suitable candidate for this job. Moreover, the experience I gained teaching ESP and IELTS to the students of Oman at the University level will help me teaching students of different cultures and nationalities in future.
