Bandaranayake International Airport (BIA)

AASL is a fully government owned company with statutory powers to manage and develop civil airports in Sri Lanka. As a core Airport in srtilanka BIA handle Over 99% of international and domestic air traffic (approximately 60K aircraft movement per year). 

A single Cat II runway operates round the clock with a limited 3 hour runway closer in every Wednesday for maintenance. In 2017, the AGL system fully upgraded to LED system (ADB) including cabling, CCR, and Operating system

Primary Responsibilities

• Corrective, preventive, and differential maintenance for existing AGL systems including the component level repair of AGL lights & Fixtures. 
• Maintain AGL systems & recordings to meet international standards such as ICAO. it will  also introduce national standards prescribed by bodies such as FAA
• Responsible for costing and estimating commercial jobs, tenders, and inquiries related to AGL procurements.
•  Manage MALMS (Mobile Airfield Light Monitoring System) photometric system and torque management system. 
• Collaborate with ATC, and other agencies works in the Airside.
• Carrying out new project work, design and installation.
• Define the roles and responsibilities of each member of the AGL maintenance team and build awareness of Health & Safety cases in order to establish a professional H&S plan.
