Mr. Chhayendra Mahajan currently working as Associate Vice President with Dorf Ketal Chemicals (I) Pvt. Ltd. based out of Mumbai handling the organizational and process safety vertical for India operations.

Mr. Chhayendra Mahajan, a Chemical Engineering graduate, has been working for 28 years in a Process Safety Engineering discipline with strong communication skills. He is able to engage at different levels both with colleagues, site technical staff and at the senior levels within an organization to influence the decisions on process safety risks and management with passion for learning, coaching and mentoring the upcoming process safety professionals. Mr. Chhayendra Mahajan is TUV certified functional safety engineer as well as BP approved HAZOP and SIL/LOPA chairman. He is well conversant on Chemical Reaction Hazards and the process safety studies required while developing the chemical process like RC, ARC, DSC etc. and incorporating its outcome into risk assessment studies. He is also very well conversant with various process safety testing related to dust hazards.

Mr. Chhayendra Mahajan was involved in almost all kind of process safety studies including HAZOP, HAZID, Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA)/SIL, Human Factors Analysis and Facility siting, QRA studies, MAR studies, Explosion modeling (FLACS software) and consequence modeling. Reliability ,Availability and Maintainability (RAM) study, Process Safety Management systems implementation and Audits, Hazardous Area Classification (HAC), Loss prevention principles  - LPP studies, Root Cause Analysis ,Facilitating Management of Change (MoC) ,Comprehensive Safety Audits, Process Safety Training ,Combustible dust hazards, Static Hazards  and Risk Assessment covering Oil and Gas, Petrochemicals, Chemical process Industries (including batch process) , Specialty Chemicals (including batch process) , and Industrial Gases sectors.

Mr. Chhayendra Mahajan is TUV certified functional safety engineer as well as BP approved HAZOP, LOPA chairman. Mr. Chhayendra Mahajan has demonstrated technical leadership in process safety competencies mentioned above by holding responsible and accountable position of ‘Discipline Responsible Engineer’ for process safety in BP AGT region such that other professionals rely on his judgment, advice and engineering skills. Mr. Chhayendra Mahajan is accountable, collaborative, transparent in his approach, which enabled him to excel in the area of process and technical safety. He has demonstrated the ability to work without being supervised. He mentors and trains other professionals.

Mr. Chhayendra Mahajan is conversant of BP Engineering Technical Practices (ETPs), BP Group Defined Practices (GDP), General Industries Specifications (GIS), relevant NFPA, International Electro technical Commission (IEC) , API standards, (Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)  Process Safety Management Standards.

Mr. Chhayendra Mahajan has a production management experience in the capacity of Production Manager and Acting Plant Manager in Cryogenic gas plant, petrochemicals manufacturing and Polymer manufacturing sectors. Mr. Chhayendra Mahajan is also Six Sigma Black Belt holder and led Projects in variable cost savings for an industrial gas Industry.

Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (B E Chemical), Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar   University, June1991 to June 1995.

• Functional Safety Engineer (SIS) TUV Rhineland certified engineer.
• Green Belt Certification: Asian Institute of Management – Mumbai  (Application of seven QC tools, DMAIC, QFD, cause and effect, FMEA, Pareto chart, Dashboard model, Kaizen etc).
• Black Belt Certification: Asian Institute of Management – Mumbai (Introduction to Statistics & MINITAB, Descriptive Statistics and Distributions, Inferential Decision Problems, Mathematical Models for Quality Tools & Control Charts). 
• Accredited BP HAZOP and LOPA facilitator, Accredited Dow LPP Facilitator, ISO 9001 and 14001 Internal Auditor.
• Pursuing ‘Professional Process Safety Engineer’ accreditation with IChemE, UK.
