My name is Deepali Palande, and I’m writing regarding the Career Counselor position in your prestigious organization.  With a background comprising 4 years of academic advising and career counseling, and 5+ years of experience in Marketing & Events, I bring to your organization an experience gleaned from nearly a decade in academia.

Currently I am working with the Nor Anglia Education- Oakridge International School, Visakhapatnam. I am happy to share that with all the hard-work with my IB & CBSE senior secondary students, we have received amazing University placements. Students have received offers from Stanford University, University of Manchester, Aberdeen, University of Melbourne, Georgia Institute of Technology, UCLA, Purdue, UIUC, etc. Here I had an opportunity to handle end-to-end application process single handedly. I take responsibility of career counselling to all the students from grade 9 – 12 from CBSE, IGCSE & IBDP students. 

In past 3 years, I’ve been a Career Counselor in in Nord Anglia Education- Oakridge International School and one of the leading career counselling service providers in the country- Univariety. I’ve helped close to 1000+ students, primarily with:

• Helping & guiding students in identifying their career interests & suitable career options for them
• Helping students in building impressive profiles for college applications.
• Adapting to university life by organizing and conducting regular orientation and individual follow-up sessions, especially for at-risk students.
• Providing 1-on-1 academic advising and career counseling sessions.
• Applying for scholarships, grants, and internships by overseeing and assisting with the application process, with successful students netting benefits to the tune of $250,000 over 3 years.
• Conducting pre-application & post admission counselling sessions for parents & students
• Arranging informative webinars, University fairs
• Collaborations with foreign Universities / Organizations to create pathways / opportunities for our students. 
• Conducting SAT & AP exams offered by the College board. 

Moreover, I played a key part in improving the effectiveness of the “At-risk students dropout prevention and recovery program,” which resulted in a 60% reduction in dropouts over the course of 2 years.

Prior to my advising career, I served as an Enrollment Manager in the New Zealand Tertiary College. It was during this time that I discovered my advising skills. Given my approachability, professionals would discuss the academic problems & requirements of their children with me, and I derived a sense of fulfilment from solving them or guiding them to the best on-campus resource when I personally couldn’t. I then enrolled myself into the formal course for Career Counselling from UCLA Extension & got certified as a Global Career Counselor. I am also certified in Counselling & Guidance from SNDT University, Mumbai.
