Dr Shirsak Ghosh

To introduce myself, I am Dr. Shirsak Ghosh, working as Head of Medical Services at The Nairobi West Hospital (a 450-bed quaternary center) in Kenya.

I have more than 19 years of clinical and administrative experience and have worked as an onco-surgeon in most of the reputed NABH and JCI accredited hospitals in Delhi-NCR like Indraprastha Apollo (JCI accredited), Fortis (Gurgaon and Vasant Kunj) (JCI and NABH accredited), Artemis (JCI and NABH accredited), Paras Hospital Gurgaon (NABH accredited), MIMS (India's 1st NABH accredited medical college and hospital and JCI accredited too), etc along with managing the day-to-day administration and operations of those institutions.

However, in 2019, I decided to shift my career entirely from the clinical field to medical administration, and that's why, in October 2020, I completed my Executive MBA in Hospital Administration from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, one of the globally recognized premier institutes. I have also received Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management from Symbiosis Pune, another world-renowned institute, in July 2021. I have recently completed my third Post Diploma in Occupational Safety and Hazard from Profqual, United Kingdom. And currently pursuing my fourth Post Graduate Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the United Kingdom. 

Furthermore, I have already completed 09 certification courses on Green Belt Healthcare Lean Six Sigma, Clinical Audit, POI from 4th to 5th edition of NABH, Continual Quality Management, 5S for hospitals, Kaizen for hospitals, Problem-solving Techniques for Healthcare Professionals, Healthcare Lean Six Sigma Management, and Good Clinical Practice.

Considering my experience, I will be happy if I am given a chance to serve as Chief Operating Officer or Head of Medical Services anywhere in the world.
