Synchrony Financial is a leading provider of credit services and products to retailers and consumers, with one of the world’s largest portfolios of consumer credit accounts. Synchrony Financial provides private label credit cards, commercial programs and card-related financial services for hundreds of retailers and manufacturers across North America. Clients of Synchrony Financial are in a variety of industries.

Synchrony Financial needs to exchange data across internal applications and external partners to support the private label credit card business. Synchrony Financial has implemented IBM tool Sterling B2B Integrator (SI) to facilitate this data exchange. This customized implementation is called “Astra MFT”. It is a secure File transfer system between Synchrony Financial internal applications and external partners. It supports

various types of file transfer-protocols like Connect Direct, Connect Direct Secure Plus, SFTP, FTP, HTTP, and HTTPS.

Astra MFT provides a single, strategic and tactical solution allowing a standard method of file transfer to various trading partners/clients of Synchrony Financial. The suite supports high volume electronic message exchange, complex routing, translation and flexible interaction with multiple internal systems and external business partners. It provides a versatile, high-performance solution, designed to assist with the exchange of EDI and other types of data. It consists of several logical components: a data store, process, communication controllers and user interface clients. It facilitates transfer of data to areas inside or outside of Synchrony and provides scheduled or event-driven based messaging. It helps monitors the activity of the entire system and provides a central gateway for all information that flows through Astra.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzing the business requirements and its impacts on the existing application and suggesting possible solutions for the designated team.
• Worked on the Migration of Application from single node system to multiple node application. Led the effort of creating, migrating and testing all the monitoring Shell scripts, Business Processes and Cron jobs. Also worked with various Clients and Internal teams to onboard them on the new Application.
• Responsible for all the deliverables that are delivered from Offshore with high quality and within the agreed timelines.
• Design, development, analysis and implementation of new data changes and user requests.
• Set up transmission connectivity with new trading partners and internal applications through build projects.
• Creation and execution of business processes using BPML and GUI.
• Hands on experience in configuring Engine, Adapters, Netmaps and Policies in SSP and SI.
• Configured various types of file transfer-protocols like Connect Direct, Connect Direct Secure Plus, SFTP, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS and Mailbox services, database adapters and command line adapters in business process creation.
• Designing new Business Processes and modifying existing ones to enable new features and functions.
