About Harsha Bullapurada:

I have completed my training in Pediatric surgery, worked at various levels as Resident, Registrar , junior and Senior consultant level in Pediatric surgery. Worked as Registrar in Pediatric surgery in Australia .

 At present working as consultant  and Professor in Pediatric surgery in a 280 bedded exclusive tertiary care  Childrens Hospital  conducting  Out patients ,operating  theatre work , Post operative care and long term follow up. I am involved in teaching under graduates, interns ,post graduates and Nursing staff.

I perform surgeries like Neonatal surgery, Urology, Thoracic surgery , Laparoscopic and Thoracoscopic surgery, General surgery and Burns on a regular basis .

 

Experience

Part of a medical college and teaching hospital. Working in a 250 bed Paediatric hospital with attached NICU, PICU and selfcontained operating theatre – Bapuji child health and research institute, which is one of the hospitals attached to the medicalcollege.
Work exposure is about 1000 cases/year including neonatal work to adolescent work.
Work includes both Paediatric Surgery and Paediatric Urology. Neonatal work load is about 100 patients/year. Minimally invasivesurgeries included, pyloric stenosis, anorectal malformations, choledochal cysts, VATS etc.
Bronchoscopy and Thoracic surgery especially management of empyema and bronchial foreign bodies form a significantworkload.
Other major work included managing burns and trauma in children.
Neurosurgical work like meningomyelocoele and hydrocephalus are also components of the workload.
Clinical research is carried out on a regular basis.
Teaching of registrars and house surgeons as well as interdisciplinary teaching forms an important part of our work. Rostered oncall and regular outpatient clinics and operation theatre sessions formed the daily routine.
Management of the department, operation theatre and outpatients are part of the administrative workload.
