Harshita Gogia

I’m Harshita Gogia, a fresher graduated from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi.

 As a law student who has an avid interest in General Corporate and M&A, I've been growing my knowledge on the same by pursuing a variety of courses offered by Bettering Results and taught by eminent faculty members such as Mrs. Paridhi Adani, Partner at CAM, Mr. Shashank Singh, Partner at JSA, Mr. Gaurav Mistry, Partner at DSK Legal, to name a few. To further my interest in the same sphere, I have also written a paper titled Union Budget 2021: Impact on M&A Transactions, published in a journal named 'Lexterz'.
 

Moreover, I'm presently pursuing the executive level of the Company Secretary (CS) course along with a language Diploma in French at Delhi University after completing the Certificate Course on the same.

Additionally, interning with the Legal and Risk Management team at Grant Thornton Bharat LLP (Big 4), the Corporate team at Singhania & Partners, the tax team at Reina Legal LLP, the M&A team at Business Law Chamber,  Advocate Nikhil Sabherwal, High Court of Punjab & Haryana, an NGO named Justice Ventures International (JVI) and Dr. Pavan Duggal provided me with an insight on umpteen number of laws surrounding the corporate business world. 
 

I've also associated myself with Delhi State Legal Services Authority as a paralegal in a bid to give back to the society.

Grant Thornton Bharat LLP, New Delhi, Hybrid mode (March’23)
 Researched on clauses pertaining to IPR for Software Licensing Agreements.
 Researched on Data Protection laws for end users.
 Researched on limitations on professional firms to perform statutory audits on banks and
insurance companies under their respective regulatory Acts.
 Drafted and modified an NDA.
 Research on the interpretation of actual claims, potential claims and threatened claims.
 Drafted a comprehensive table detailing all the required compliances for LLPs under the MSME
Act.
 Research on GDPR regulations and compliances.
 Researched on client queries about whether LLPs are mandated to undertake CSR activities
under the CA 2013 and whether a partner at an LLP firm falls under the category of an employee.
 Assisted in drafting a Contract Staffing Agreement.
 

Singhania & Partners, New Delhi (November’22)
 Researched on licenses and registrations that need to be surrendered before and after liquidation under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.
 Researched on FEMA compliances to infuse capital from a foreign holding company into an Indian subsidiary.
 Researched on compliances for Corporate Social Responsibility as per the Companies Act, 2013 and its latest amendments.
 Researched on rights issue of shares or allotment of shares under FEMA Master rules.
 Researched on whether we are permitted to play copyrighted songs at the workplace.
 Prepared a checklist on closure of an LLP and the requisite procedure.
 Researched on removal of disqualification of Directors of a company under the
Companies Act, 2013.
 

Reina Legal LLP, Gurgaon (July’22)
 Researched on provisional release of cash seized under Customs Act, 1962.
 Worked on Arbitration proceedings under Shanghai International Arbitration Centre (SHIAC) Rules.
 Researched exhaustively on the availability of ITC for Health Insurance under the Code of Social Security.
 Worked and drafted the Strategy Letter to a client pertaining to injunction of Bank Guarantee.

Business Law Chamber, Gurgaon (Jan’22)
 Researched on SEZ and DTA laws pertaining to lease and sub-lease.
 Worked partly on a Due Diligence.
 Wrote Articles on Data Protection Bill, 2021 and the Right to be Forgotten, Data Breach and AI Proctoring and Data Privacy for the firm.

 Performed extensive research on matters related to IPR, Insurance, Service Law and Writ Petitions.
 

Arcum Global, New Delhi (May’21)
 Researched chiefly on Tax laws alongside Business laws applying to businesses, both in and outside India.
 Additionally, compared and contrasted various tax systems surrounding business establishments in different nations. For E.g.: DTAAs between India and other nations.
 

Justice Ventures International, New Delhi (May’20 – Jun’20)
 Worked with the Legal Team at JVI, assisted the mentor in filing sealing applications for the rescued labour which honed my drafting skills.
 Undertook extensive research on various propositions to strengthen arguments, Writ Petitions and a
Manual on various schemes, laws and judgements pertaining to Human Rights Abuse and Identity Documents.

 Attended court proceedings, learned about cross examination and helped in filing of applications like orders, certified and uncertified copies, summons, process fee forms.
