Job Description:
- Referring and Understanding to the Customers’ Drawings, Specifications, QAPs and Applicable Codes &
Standards. Summarizing the Welding requirements.
- Qualification of Welding Procedures and Preparation of WPS for:
- Materials: CS, Stainless Steels (304L, 316L, Duplex/Super duplex), Cu-Ni, Copper, Alloy steel (Grade P91,P9, P11)
- Welding Processes: GTAW, Machine GTAW, SMAW, SAW, GMAW-RMD, GMAW.
- Codes of Qualification: ASME BPVC Section II (Part-C), Section VIII Div. 1 & Section IX, B31.3, API and as per
customers’ requirements.
- Third Party / Notified Body: TUV, BVIS, PETROFAC, BECHTEL, DNVGL, ABS, SGS, LRA
- Qualification of Welders for requirements as mentioned above for Procedure Qualification. Preparation of WPQ. Maintenance of Welder Continuity Record.
- Witness of various Destructive Testing (e.g., Tensile test, Guided Bend Test, Macro Etch Test, Fillet Weld Test etc.) and verify its compliance with respective testing code / standard.
- Review the BTC of Welding Consumables. Also verify its compliance with applicable Code / Standard.
- Prepare and implement Construction Quality & Welding along with associated Inspection and Test Plans
(Weld Map/ Weld book and Test Plan).
- Review of Welding Surveillance reports. And subsequent, Root-Cause Analysis (RCA) of welding defects & Preparation of remedial action plan.
- Welding Cost Estimation (Cost of Consumables and Procedure/Performance Qualifications) for New Project Inquiry.
- Development & Automation of Welding Processes and Fixtures.
- Analysis of Violation received from Client (if any) and take corrective/ preventive action for the same to avoid problems in future.
- Identification the lessons learnt and implementing the same in future projects.
- Review of customer specifications and international codes & standards for understanding the customer requirements.
- Co-ordinate with the customer representative for various technical queries and deviations to be resolved for the project at hand.
- Work as a team leader and assists team members regarding important project requirement and monitor critical inspection activities.
- Routine Surveillance check of Electrode Handling, Welders card, Pre-Heating (prior as well as during production welding) & In Process Quality surveillance inspection.
- In Process Surveillance and spot check of Welding activities
- Physically verifying Root penetration, Open surface Defects, under cuts, slag, cluster porosity etc., and adhering to product Quality norms, Specifications, Standards.
- Participating in Project Quality Surveillance Audits for checking compliance of the Project Quality with the applicable Project Quality Procedures
- Study and analysis of data from quality surveillance audits, customer complaints, internal audits, etc. for improvements and effective implementation of the quality management system.
- Control & Monitoring of Client NCR’s & take Corrective /Preventive measures.
- Analysis of customer complaint and take corrective/ preventive action for the same to avoid problems in future.
- Review of customer specifications and international codes & standards for understanding the customer requirements.
- Assisting team members regarding important project requirement and monitor critical inspection activities.
- Knowledge Conversant with ASME SEC IX, ASME SEC VIII Div. I, ASME B31.3 etc.
