Jennil Thiyam

During my Ph.D. journey, I got the opportunity to mentor three B.Tech. students from NIT Manipur, five B.Tech. Students from the Institute of Technology and Applied Research and two M.Tech. students from NIT Silchar during their internships at IIT Guwahati. Currently, I am also working as a teaching assistant for a post-graduate certified course, "Deep Learning for Computer Vision and XR Onboarding Course," offered by Coursera. I have learned from the mentorship how to formulate problem statements for research projects and deal with students. I have the ability to work independently and collaboratively and mentor students. Hence, I am sure that I could be  the person you are looking for.

On the top of being a teaching assistant, I would like to continue exploiting and exploring different machine-learning methods and computer vision, and help the university  advancing in its research and publication profile. 

In my research journey, I have opened to various domains such as OCR, medical signals, images, image processing, and machine learning (including both traditional and deep learning).  In teaching profession, I am sure that the critical factor on the top of being knowledgeable person is to deal with students. I can say I have some experience in it as I have mentored some students during my Ph.D.

I have completed my B.Tech and M.Tech from NIT manipur, and done my Ph.D from IIT Guwahati.
