Senior Manager Accounts Payable Vantage Drilling

  • Build and lead accounting team responsible for accounting shared service center including but not limited to aspects of general accounting, accounts payable, and T&E
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures, ensuring that they are in accordance with US GAAP/IFRS and followed in practice.
  • Design, implement and maintain accounting and financial reporting controls, ensuring compliance with SOX 404
  • Lead the design, planning, and execution of the AP Shared Services Center (SSC) from the ground up 
  • Work closely with senior management to define the scope of services and develop an implementation roadmap for the setup.
  • Evaluate business processes and proactively recommend and implement improvements across responsible functions
  • Identify and select appropriate technology platforms, tools, and systems to support finance processes (e.g., ERP systems, automation tools)
  • Collaborate with regional controllers on activities impacting flobal team (policy, resolve discrepancy)
  • Oversee budgeting and follow-on discipline to ensure spending is kept under control
  • Drive recommendations for growth strategy for Accounting Shared Service centre including system and operational processes
  • Establish service level agreements and key performance indicators to measure the productivity and quality of service of the accounting shared service centre
  • Analyse data and feedback to identify opportunities to enhance performance, improve processes and save cost of the accounting shared service centre
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the overall efficiency and customer satisfaction of the accounting shared service centre. Education and Experience
  • ork on onboarding new businesses and support geographic expansions for the suite of services provided by Finance Operation Services
  • Participate in monthly Operations/Project reviews with leadership in support of services being provided for
  • Partner closely with the Technology teams to identify post business launch enhancements necessary for Finance Operations Services to scale with the business initiative
  • Developing, modifying and maintaining operational and design effectiveness of internal controls

Process Standardization & Optimization

  • Standardize and optimize finance and accounting processes across multiple business units to achieve 

operational efficiencies.

  • Ensure the implementation of best practices in financial transaction processing, reporting, and control mechanisms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, HR, Operations) to ensure the smooth integration of processes. 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce cycle times, and improve accuracy.

Operational Management

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Shared Services Centre, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for all financial services provided

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing F&A shared services team.
  • Develop talent management programs, including training and development plans, performance 

appraisals, and succession planning

  • Provide leadership and guidance on complex finance issues, ensuring the team is aligned with business goals and objectives

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial statements, reports, and other deliverables.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
  • Taking care of Banking/Treasury: Bank reconciliation. Dealing with Bank for Forex and Treasury
  • Ensueing the period end close in accordance with the defined close calendar

Technology & Automation:

  • Lead the automation of repetitive finance tasks using robotic process automation (RPA) or other digital tools to reduce manual workload and improve efficiency
  • Evaluate and implement finance tools (ERP systems, financial reporting software) to improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.

Stakeholder Management

  • Bridge the gap between shared services team and senior management, business units, and external partners.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify their needs and ensure shared services deliverables meet business expectations
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers for outsourced finance processes

 

Experience

Accomplished Sr Manager Accounts Payable with extensive experience in managing accounts payable, Inventory accounting, Import and Export Accounting and Payroll  across multiple regions, including India, USA, and UAE.

Setting up Shared Services center for DAMAC (UAE) JSW and JSPL Steel and 

Managing the Day-to-day operations setting up SLA Handling US UK and India operation for Steel Power and Middle East Oil Subsidiaries. 

Completed 2 Automations Project for Invoice processing and Payment process

Was part of Testing and implementations for Oracle Fusion,MS Dynamics Implementations

Taking care of Internal controls, Tax and Audit
