About Karthik S:
I am S. Karthikeyan having 8 years of work experience in Project Planning and Control, currently working as an Assistant Manager – Planning with added knowledge in Estimation and Procurement.
I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and have worked in various positions in the Department of Planning and Cost control.
As a Planning Engineer, I was responsible for the preparation of schedules in consultation with various departments, preparing weekly & monthly progress reports, preparing running bills and communicating with the project manager, and team leader for project-related matters, as Project Planning Engineer I feel that my greatest strengths are my proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget as per customer requirements & expectation using necessary quality control & assurance tools and techniques as well as my extensive experience in business project management including Primavera P6, MS Office & MS Project.
I can analyze suppliers in the area who offer the best product for the least amount of money and can negotiate turnaround times to get our purchases delivered quickly to the benefit of the company. Working in a team setting is not an issue for me and I would be both comfortable leading and being a part of any team in any company.

Experience
Understand work scope, quantity and familiar with logical sequences in terms of engineering
and construction disciplines.
Conduct field scoping to clarify scope as required.
Understand WBS structure, and work with management and project/maintenance team in
the development of work break down structure for progress measurement, scheduling, cost
estimating and project control.
Prepare and manage overall master schedule integrating work breakdown structure using
Primavera P6 scheduling software.
Understand contractual matter, familiar with scope management and change control.
Coordinate schedule from multiple contractors and incorporate the information gathered into
the overall project master schedule.
Prepare cost estimation and schedule bar chart plan considering all in puts (manpower,
equipment’s and materials).
Develop work method of statement or procedure as required.
Develop and update resource (manpower and equipment) histogram weekly or monthly as
required.
Evaluate allocation of resources and provide recommendations to maintain required
progress.
Develop and implement plan versus actual progress charts (histograms/S curves) Reports and
analyses deviations from plan.
Track, monitor and forecast progress of all activities and deliverable such as products,
engineering documents, fabrication status and construction of all discipline.
Analyze gaps between the planned and actual progress and highlight the areas of concern
which required action of the associate task member.
Prepare and update three weeks and three months look-ahead schedule that reflect the
priority activities
Liaises with all team leaders and/or members to communicate required completion dates and
interface between functional team/operational team and project team.
