Kshema Rai, Founder and Principal Interior Designer of Black Pebble Designs, brings over 18 years of professional experience in interior design. Having begun her career in Mumbai, she worked on a diverse range of residential and commercial projects, collaborating closely with architects, developers, and private clients. Her time in Mumbai allowed her to refine her design sensibilities — blending contemporary urban aesthetics with functional spatial planning and detail-oriented execution.

After nearly two decades in the industry, Kshema has now shifted her practice to Mangalore, where she continues to offer her services as an independent designer under Black Pebble Designs. Her extensive experience enables her to handle projects from concept to completion — including space planning, 3D visualisation, material selection, and site coordination — with precision and creativity.

Her portfolio spans luxury apartments, villas, and bespoke homes inspired by tropical minimalism, Mangalorean heritage, and modern design principles. Today, Kshema stands among the most trusted interior designers in Mangalore, known for her personalised approach, technical expertise, and ability to create interiors that balance elegance with comfort.

Kshema Rai holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from the L. S. Raheja School of Architecture, Mumbai, one of India’s most reputed institutions for design education. Her academic foundation equipped her with a strong understanding of design principles, architectural detailing, and spatial planning, forming the basis of her creative and technical expertise.

To complement her design background with business acumen, she further pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from M.E.T. Institute, Mumbai. This dual qualification enables her to approach projects with both artistic vision and strategic efficiency — balancing design creativity with project management, budgeting, and client relations.
