Lakshmi Rajeev Kumar

With a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and an Erasmus+ MSc in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation for Environmental Modelling and Management (GEM) Programme, I am deeply passionate about leveraging my education and expertise to contribute to environmental betterment and conservation efforts. 
My academic journey has equipped me with a solid foundation in engineering principles, which I now combine with advanced knowledge in geo-information science to address pressing environmental challenges. From designing sustainable infrastructure to utilizing cutting-edge technology for environmental monitoring and management, I am dedicated to harnessing the power of data and innovation to foster sustainable development and protect our planet's precious ecosystems. 
Committed to making a positive impact, I am eager to apply my multidisciplinary background and enthusiasm for environmental stewardship to drive meaningful change in the field of environmental modeling and management.

I have a background in civil engineering and geospatial analysis, with hands-on experience in sustainable design, environmental modeling, and research. Recently, I interned with the Stockholm Environment Institute, where I created a landslide susceptibility map for Estonia's Pärnu County. Previously, I worked as an Engineer at Farmertree Producer Co. Ltd., designing flood-resistant, eco-friendly warehouses. I also conducted research on energy-efficient buildings as a Research Associate at the International Centre for Technological Innovations. I just recently graduated with Erasmus Mundus scholarship for Master’s in Geo-Information Science, focusing on spatial data, remote sensing, and environmental monitoring.

I recently graduated on September 6th with an Erasmus Mundus Master’s in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation for Environmental Modelling and Management, completed at the University of Tartu, Estonia, and Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium. My studies focused on spatial data analysis, programming in Python and R, remote sensing, and environmental monitoring, with my thesis dedicated to using high-resolution airborne data to analyze urban surfaces. Prior to this, I completed my Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with Honors at APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, where I conducted a GIS-based flood risk assessment for my final project.
