With over 18 years of dedicated experience in social work and clinical counseling within hospital settings, I have honed a diverse skill set that spans medico-social tasks, rehabilitation, fundraising, data analysis, and educational resource provision. My journey in social work began with a strong educational foundation, including a Master's in Social Work and ongoing Ph.D. studies in Social Work at Annamalai University.
At St. Johns Medical College Hospital, I coordinated the adult bone marrow transplant unit, provided comprehensive pre- and post-transplant counseling, and enhanced the quality of life for patients with hemophilia and other bleeding disorders. My role extended to serving various hospital departments, offering emergency care, physical medicine, rehabilitation, group therapy, and blood donation coordination. Additionally, I played a crucial role in fundraising efforts and data analysis to support underprivileged patients.
As a Lecturer in Social Work at AWH Special College, I imparted core social work knowledge to MSW students, covering subjects such as Social Work History, Counseling Developmental Psychology, and Social Work Research. My tenure with NGOs like SREDHA and the Tilak Nagar Association for People Development further strengthened my expertise in counseling, rehabilitation, and community outreach, particularly in post-disaster and poverty alleviation contexts.
I am passionate about making a meaningful impact on individuals and communities, particularly those in vulnerable situations. My professional journey is marked by a commitment to social justice, innovative problem-solving, and a collaborative approach to enhancing healthcare access and community support systems.
Currently, I am pursuing my Ph.D., focusing on the quality of life of adult acquired brain injury patients and their caregivers, which aligns with my long-term goal of contributing to social work research and policy development.
