About mohd aqeel:

Currently working as I am a Post-Doctoral Fellow and a mentor to the PhD and graduate students at the University of Hyderabad, India with an interest to continue my passion of research and teaching and contributing to a deeper understanding of individual decision-making. The majority of my current research applies field and lab-in-the-field experiments to reduce the iron-ore pellets with a clean-coal technology an innovative approach and the design of the innovative methods, processing routes, testing and characterizations. Apart from this, I have assigned the work to independently handled the FESEM equipment attached with EDS and EBSD detector with OIM analysis software to help students to characterize their research work. Furthermore, I have assigned to conducting the group meetings, conducting presentations from the students, assigning the lab works to the students, guide them to complete their task in both experimentally and technical writing papers.

Hands on experience on the followings: Laser Processing (welding, sintering, softening) utilizing high power laser systems integrated to 6+2-axis robotic workstations

Materials Characterization utilizing Tools such as Standard Metallography Techniques, Optical Microscopy with Image Analyzer, FESEM, EDS, EBSD, XRD, NDT Techniques and Surface Topography using Opto-Digital Microscope

Mechanical Properties Evaluation employing Tensile Testing, Impact testing, Bend testing, Micro-hardness analysis, Residual Stress Analysis · Evaluation of Nano mechanical properties using high speed Nano Indentation · Microstructure, phase and stress analysis at micro-level utilizing Advanced Micro focused XRD system 

High temperature properties evaluation such as hot corrosion, oxidation and creep rupture utilizing advanced test rigs and specialized furnaces with in situ analyzing tools such as TGA ·

Education

Dissertation Research: In the 21st century, the major challenge facing worldwide is to provide abundant and cheap electricity to the growing global demand and at the same time reduce pollution to preserve the environment. Although several technologies such as solar and wind renewable energy resources are in the offing with development and use, effective utilization of existing thermal power plants for prolonging their life as well as enhancing the boiler efficiency is the need of the hour. Thus, future advanced ultra-super critical (AUSC) boilers are aimed at increasing the efficiency of coal-based power generation in the range of 46 – 50% with application of advanced nickel-based superalloy materials to withstand higher temperatures (710 – 760⁰C) and pressures (25 – 35 MPa). Inconel 617 is considered one of the most promising candidate materials for AUSC boiler components owing to its superior high-temperature structural stability coupled with hot corrosion/oxidation and creep resistance. Therefore, as part of PhD research work, initially I have investigated the process optimization and detail understanding of mechanism of liquation cracking phenomena in Laser and Laser Hybrid welding of IN 617 superalloy. Then, process optimization using statistical modelling of high-power diode laser welding. Apart from this I have successfully developed and patented a new laser welding process for joining thick-sections materials with uniform weld bead and defect free welds. Furthermore, comparative studies were also carried out on microstructure and mechanical properties of weldments using Laser, Laser Hybrid and TIG processes. Finally, as part of the project of thermal power plant which experiences a heavy corrosion during service, I have investigated the behaviour of weldments under High temperature corrosion conditions. Based on these research work, I have successfully published three articles in the reputed journals and one patent filed and two papers under review. Furthermore, the research work also presented in various international conferences.
