Mudasir Younis

Presently, I am working as a postdoctoral research fellow pursuing my research work in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur). I completed my Ph.D. on the topic entitled "Some Fixed Point Theorems and Their Applications in Abstract Spaces" in Applied Mathematics (February 2021). I have worked as an assistant professor in the mathematics department of the Jammu and Kashmir Institute of Mathematical Sciences, in J&K, India. I have taught courses in Functional Analysis, Ordinary Differential Equations, Topology, Abstract Algebra, Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Complex Analysis, Engineering Mathematics, and other topics to postgraduate students and undergraduates. I have been quite successful as a teacher, as evidenced by my positive student evaluations and the many unsolicited compliments I’ve received from students.

I worked as an Assistant Professor in the mathematics department of the Jammu and Kashmir Institute of Mathematical Sciences, in J&K, India, for around three years and seven months. I have taught courses in Functional Analysis, Ordinary Differential Equations, Topology, Abstract Algebra, Linear Algebra,
Discrete Mathematics, Complex Analysis, Engineering Mathematics, and other topics to graduate students and undergraduates. I have been quite successful as a teacher, as evidenced by my positive student evaluations and the many unsolicited compliments I have received from students.

Presently, I am working as a postdoctoral research fellow pursuing my research work in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur), one of the top three institutions of India, having a rank of 264 in QS World University Rankings 2023. I completed my Ph.D. on the topic entitled "Some Fixed Point Theorems and Their Applications in Abstract Spaces" in Applied Mathematics from UIT-Rajiv Gandhi Technological University Bhopal, M.P., India, in February 2021.
During my doctoral studies, I studied some problems on graph structure of metric spaces, which is
a relatively new addition to the related study. I obtained some novel results in this context and some real-world applications related to engineering science and physics, such as a damped Spring-Mass system, deformation of an elastic beam, vibrations of a vertical heavy hanging cable, ascending motion of a rocket, etc. I have been awarded fellowships at the national level. I have attended various seminars and training programs in Mathematics in India and abroad. In the last four years, I have already published twenty research papers in SCI/ESCI/Scopus listed journals ( e.g., Journal of Fixed Point Theory and Applications, Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computing, International Journal of Nonlinear Sciences and Numerical Simulation, Filomat, Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Discrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, Nonlinear Analysis: Modelling and Control, Axioms, Nonlinear Functional Analysis, and Applications, Mathematical Modeling and Analysis, etc.)
