Research Interests

I (Narasimha M. Beeraka) published several research papers, in Elsevier, Nature, Frontiers, Bentham science, SpringerNature, MDPI, Hindawi etc. My specific interests are based on Bioinformatics, and molecular biology to execute several biomedical research projects pertinent to cancers, neurological/cardiovascular diseases, and biomarker discovery. I am a professional content developer and medical writer. 

  • I have expertise in using in silico for artificial intelligence projects through machine learning algorithms, and in vitro, and in vivo using direct and In-direct In situ Hybridization at the light and electron microscopy, DNA, RNA-sequencing dataset analysis, microarrays, Cryo-Electron Microscopy, cell physiology, cell imaging, PCR, ELISA, Western Blotting, Mass spectrometry, NMR, X-ray diffraction, Cell Transfection, qRT-PCR, etc.,

As the epigenetic studies related to the chemoresistance, and tumor proliferation is emerging, the development of the gene-based molecular therapies is one of the significant research arenas to target several cancers which need scientific exploration at both academic and industry level. For instance, the chemoresistance is one of the major obstacles in cancer patients occurring due to the development of stemness factors in proliferating cancer cells which limits effective clinical outcomes in the cancer patients. However, the rate of drug-repurposing has been increasing across the several labs to examine the efficacy of the existing drugs against chemoresistant cancers. However, these studies need substantial research reports on several varieties of cancers. 

In addition, the combinatorial therapeutic implications of existing phytomedicine with chemotherapeutics can mitigate the dose-mediated adverse toxicity in the cancer patients. The underlying mechanisms behind the efficacy of these combination regimen yet to be examined vividly in several cancers. 

Another research arena is the development of immune-oncology based CART- therapies for radioresistant and chemoresistant cancers.     

Furthermore, I am interested in expanding my research to other areas such as neuroscience, immunology, cardiometabolic diseases, genomics, proteomics, and prognostic biomarkers by exploring underlying cell signalling modulations attributed to the disease progression. I have attended and presented several conferences, workshops, and poster presentations at national and international levels. I am interested in enhancing my research skills, and expertise by working in other additional segments of R&Ds both in the industry level, and academic level.
