NAVIN P MATHEW

Since my childhood, I have been fascinated by the forests and wetlands nearby, where I observe birds and animals. I have pursued my Bachelors in Zoology at Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram, which further fueled my interest in wildlife and gave me the opportunity to do my minor research work on the non-captive birds in the Thiruvanathapuram Zoo. In addition to that, I also spent a significant portion of my life in Wayanad, where I spent almost three years doing my masters in wildlife science at Kerala Veterenary and Animal Sciences University, Pookode. Additionally, I volunteered for several bird, butterfly, and odonate surveys across Kerala. My primary area of interest is ornithology. Besides observing wildlife, particularly birdwatching, I enjoy wildlife photography, writing, reading, and watching documentaries.

I have completed my masters in June,2023. During the course study, I volunteered with an NGO named MARC for the study on the nesting of woolly-necked storks in Kerala. Apart from that, I have been associated with several environmental organizations for various surveys on wildlife across Kerala.
