Nitin Kumar

Dr. NITIN KUMAR LAUTRE is working as Assistant Professor in the Mechanical department from 2008.  He did his B.E. from Nagpur University (1997) and then completed his M.Tech from Nagpur University (1999)  through GATE -1997. Thereafter he worked Hindustan Aeronautical Limited, Barrackpore for almost one year (01-02-1999 to 20-10-2000). After that, he joined Punjab Engg College, Chandigarh and worked as Lecturer for 5 years (20-10-2000 to 19-10-2005) and as Senior Lecturer for 3 years (till 22-12-2008) before joining VNIT in 2008. He did his Ph.D. from IIT ROORKEE. His Area of specialization is in unconventional material removal, welding, additive metal manufacturing. He teaches subjects Manufacturing Processes, Fluid Machines, Engineering Drawing, Supply Chain Management, and Statistical Quality Assurance. He published 22 papers in international Journals and 25 papers in national and international conferences. He is a fellow member of Institute of Engineers (IE), ASME, ISME, IEEE, ISTE. Introduced and developed new subjects in teaching curriculum like Introduction to Engineering Design, Supply chain Management. Updated syllabus of Engineering drawing and Mechanical measurement laboratory. Delivered various special invited lecturer on EDM, WEDM, I4.0, Online Teaching learning, Geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing; Mechanics of solid and Manufacturing process; Microwave drilling of materials : COMSOL perspective; Microwave drilling: An emerging Manufacturing Technology. Guided 17 M.Tech dissertations and many UG level projects.
