Hey, I'm Satyam, an audio engineer, music producer, and guitarist, with a passion for creating immersive soundscapes and captivating melodies. My journey in the world of audio engineering began with a strong love for music and a desire to bring out its finest nuances through technology and creativity.

Born and raised in the "city of Nawabs" Lucknow, my fascination with sound and music started at an early age. Growing up, I was surrounded by diverse musical influences, from the intricate rhythms of traditional Hindustani classical music to the soul-stirring melodies of Bollywood and Western classics. As I immersed myself in this vibrant sonic world, I knew that my future lay in the realm of audio engineering.

In pursuit of my dreams, I enrolled at the prestigious KM Music Conservatory in Chennai, where I pursued a degree in Audio Engineering. The conservatory offered a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum that honed my technical skills and exposed me to various facets of the industry. Armed with a solid foundation, I was ready to take on the world of audio.

After completing my degree, I ventured to Mumbai in 2016 to carve out my career path. Mumbai, the heart of the Indian music and entertainment industry, provided the perfect platform for my aspirations. I began my journey as a rhythm guitarist with an indie rock band, a thrilling experience that allowed me to connect with audiences and feel the power of live music.

Simultaneously, I joined Meraki, a renowned studio, as an in-house audio engineer. Here, my true audio engineering prowess blossomed, as I worked on various projects that challenged and inspired me. The opportunity to work on animated shows broadcasted on popular national TV channels like Pogo, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network was a turning point in my career.

As an audio engineer/music producer at Meraki, I was entrusted with tasks such as background music composition (BGM), sound design, mixing, and mastering for shows like "Tik Tak Tails," "The Adventures of Shiva," "Roll No. 21," and "Motu Patlu." Additionally, I had the privilege of lending my skills to record for "Google Assistant" in Hindi and Marathi, a feat that filled me with immense pride.

However, the year 2018 brought a transformative moment in my career. I felt the need for more creative freedom and diversity in my work. With utmost respect and modesty, I decided to shift my focus from television to the world of advertisement. The advertisement industry offered a whole new canvas for me to paint my artistic expressions with a myriad of tones and styles, which was exactly what I was seeking.

Embracing the world of freelancing, I delved into various projects with a zeal to explore and learn new techniques. From working as a session recordist for renowned lyricist and storyteller Neelesh Misra in the year 2012 to collaborating from 2014 to 2016 with celebrated musicians and directors like A.R Reihana, and Premkumar Sivaperuman, my freelance journey was marked by diverse experiences that enriched my skills.

Throughout the years, I've been fortunate to work on an array of exciting projects that have further honed my expertise as both an engineer and a producer. Some of my notable projects include arranging guitars for the movie "Kahani Rubber Band ki," recording a Marathi version of the web series "Special OPS," and performing as a guitarist during the live broadcast of Miss Diva 2020.

Moreover, I had the exciting opportunity to produce and arrange jazz/blues pieces for the Netflix original web series "Decoupled," which featured renowned actors R. Madhavan and Surveen Chawla. This project allowed me to showcase my versatility and creativity in producing music that enhanced the on-screen experience for the viewers.

In recent years, my passion for live performances led me to join the Folk Rock/Sufi Band. As their Lead Guitarist and Producer, I've embarked on thrilling tours across the country, connecting with audiences through music that transcends boundaries.

My journey as an audio engineer, music producer, and guitarist has been nothing short of exhilarating. From live shows and television to advertisements and films, every step has been a learning experience that has shaped me into the professional I am today.

My skills as an audio engineer span from recording and mixing to sound design and background score composition. I am proficient in using industry-standard software such as Pro Tools and Logic Pro, and I possess a keen understanding of musical composition and arrangement.

Collaboration and communication are the cornerstones of my work ethic. I take pride in working closely with artists, directors, and fellow musicians to create audio experiences that evoke emotions and elevate storytelling. As I continue to grow in my career, I look forward to exploring new frontiers in audio engineering and music production. Each day brings new opportunities to craft sounds that resonate with audiences and leave an indelible mark on their hearts.

In the past two years, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of artists and projects, showcasing my skills as both an engineer and a producer. Here is a summary of some of the notable projects I have been involved in:

1. "Kahani Rubber band ki" - From December 2019 until the beginning of 2020, I had the opportunity to arrange guitars for this movie. Directed by Sarika Sanjot and featuring music by Meet Bros and Anup Bhat, this film was released on 14th October 2022 on Amazon Prime.


2. "Special OPS" Season 1 (Marathi) - As a recording engineer, I had the honour of working on the Marathi version of the web series "Special OPS." Created by Neeraj Pandey, this series starred renowned Bollywood actors such as Kay Kay Menon, Vinay Pathak, Karan Tacker, and Gautami Kapoor. It was released on Disney+ Hotstar.


3. Miss Diva 2020 - I had the exciting opportunity to perform as a guitarist in the act of Ishan Khattar, a renowned Bollywood actor, during the live broadcast of Miss Diva 2020. This event, a part of the Femina Miss India pageant, was aired on MTV.


4. "Decoupled" (Netflix Original Web Series) - During the first lockdown in India, I received an offer to produce and arrange jazz/blues pieces for this Netflix original web series. Created by Manu Joseph and directed by Hardik Mehta, the series starred R. Madhavan and Surveen Chawla in the lead roles.


5. Commercial Advertisements and Local Bands/Artists - I had the pleasure of working on numerous commercial advertisements, lending my production expertise to create impactful soundscapes. Additionally, I recorded several local bands and artists in various renowned studios, including Meraki in Goregaon, Mumbai; Pause in Varsova, Mumbai; Seven Melodies in Lucknow; and Studio 9 in Andheri, Mumbai.


These projects have not only allowed me to collaborate with talented individuals but have also provided me with invaluable experience in diverse genres and mediums. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to contribute to these remarkable ventures and continue to hone my skills as a producer and engineer.
 

My education journey has been both academically enriching and creatively fulfilling. I completed my formal education in Audio Engineering at KM Conservatory, a prestigious institution led by the two-time Oscar winner, Dr. A.R. Rahman.

At KM Conservatory, I had the privilege of immersing myself in the world of music under the guidance of renowned mentors. The curriculum was thoughtfully designed to provide comprehensive knowledge in music theory, composition, and audio engineering, laying a solid foundation for my career in the music industry.

Throughout my educational journey, I discovered my love for music as not only an art form but also a powerful means of expression and storytelling. Driven by this passion, I actively engaged in various musical projects and collaborations, both within and beyond the academic setting.

My education at KM Conservatory equipped me with essential technical skills in music production software, enabling me to explore innovative ways of creating and manipulating sound. Additionally, I developed a keen understanding of the connections between music and visual media, a valuable asset as I ventured into the film industry.

The knowledge and experiences gained during my education have shaped me into a versatile and creative musician, ready to inspire and nurture the next generation of musical talents. As I embark on my journey as a Music Teacher, I am eager to share the invaluable lessons from my education with my students and instill in them a deep appreciation for the transformative power of music.
