IQARUS - UNHCR Company Location: Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh Department: PHARMACY Company Review United Nations Medical Treatment Facility (MTF),that has the capacity of up to 50 bedded has been set up with the participation of WHO, IOM, WFP, UNICEF, and UNHCR. The services at the facility will be managed by IQARUS, has experience in providing medical services in demanding and complex environments. Duties/Responsibilities: Organizes and manages all medical logistical requests and distribution to and from the Medical Facility Pharmacy and Store. Order reception and preparation:  Check quantities and quality of the received items  Make out an acknowledgement of receipt for logistics department and HQ  Fill in the stock cards for all the items as the electronic file.  Update the stock cards and the electronic file according to the stock movements  Feedback to the project manager in case of any problem with the orders Stock Management  Maintaining pharmacy with appropriate storage, receiving, and packing space and allowing to conduct a full medical inventory  Supervising the pharmacy assistant in the organization of the drugs storage according to international standards (Alphabetical order of International Non-proprietary Name, FEFO principle, clear labeling with INN + dosage + pharmaceutical form + expiry date)  Supervising the pharmacy organization of the drugs and medical supplies for easy distribution and appropriate stock movement records  Organize a monthly physical inventory and provide the stock balance at the end of each month to Project manager Training and capacity building  Provide ongoing training on pharmaceutical supply management, rational medicine use, medical waste management, and pharmacovigilance to locally recruited medical staff, medical warehouse officers, pharmaceuticals supply chain officers, medical logistics officers and warehouse pharmacists  Train and supervise the pharmacy assistant in the Monitoring temperature of the pharmacy and fridge on a daily basis. Collection and analysis of drugs consumption:  Ensure that updated stock and consumption records can be provided upon request for any reporting to HQ  Assist in development and implementation of drug consumption tools in supported facilities and mobile clinics.
 Monitor the drug consumption by establishing/maintaining mechanisms of consumption record and inform project manager in case of any unusual consumption. Reporting and attendance to different meetings  Prepare a weekly activity report to submit to the project manager  Compile drug consumption per month and per health facility and PHC clinic  Participate in a pro-active way to internal meetings (medical, security…) Warehouse and Stock Management  Ensure that procured stocks are received, registered, and dispatched in an efficient and accountable manner.  Maintain control and accountability of all stock, monitoring storage, request and issuance in accordance with Management Guidelines in CMO, PMOs and HQs;  Monthly, Quarterly monitoring report from Medical and Non-Medical stocks in CMO, PMOs and HFs;  Maintenance of clear, accurate documentation for all movement of stock in and out of the warehouse, using stock cards, Goods Received forms and Waybills. Goods Distribution and Dispensing:  Prepare and distribute the drugs according to the departments requests and projects needs  Supply requests from departments and clinics in a timely way  Ensure that appropriate storage conditions are in place for medicines (including controlled Drugs) and advise any need for improvements  Ensure stock rotation according to FIFO (First In First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry First Out)  Ensure disposal of health care products is done according with national regulations  Supervise the store release, distribution, and transfer of all stock to the required field site locations Specific Management of the Cold Chain:  Ensure the good storage according with the standard  Follow up with the logistic the good maintenance of the fridge Display the content on the Fridge gate  Ensure recording of the temperature at hottest and colder hours of the day  Inform immediately the Project coordinator in case of break down and do a claim  Define in collaboration with the project team the contingency plan in case of break down and ensure his implementation  Ensure the strict respect of the packaging procedure for the transport in passive cold chain  Read the logtag in the keep cold during the reception and share the result with the Project Coordinator and the pharmacy coordination Expiry and Disposal Management:  Make sure that the guideline and methods of disposal process for expiry items are in place and well aware in the field levels.  Should record the process for disposing of medicines in your medicines policy. Maintains and updates a patient profile with demographics, diagnosis, allergies, and current medications Identify, prioritize and resolve drug related problems. Uses appropriate communication skills, and effectively communicates with patients, physicians, and nurses to solve identified drug related problems. Provide patient education (e.g., counseling information and education on adherence issues, either verbal or written). Monitors drug therapy to evaluate appropriateness of use, drug, dosage form, regimen, route, therapeutic duplication, and drug interactions. Participate in the pharmacy shift and on-call system for their facility. Cooperate and show respect for all members of the inter-professional team.
