About Shivani Thakur:
My name is Shivani Thakur and I was born and raised in the vibrant city of Nagpur, which is also a place surrounded by the richness of nature that has fuelled my passion for wildlife from an early age.
In addition to my formal education which started with a bachelors degree in chemistry, botany and zoology in Nagpur university, along with msc in environmental science from Savitribai Phule Pune university, I conducted a research project in my post-graduation studies on Human-Wildlife Conflict in and around Pench Tiger Reserve which focussed to understand the causes of the arising conflicts between the man and animal and even the challenges faced by both. I had even had the privilege of working with conservation wildlands trust where I contributed to document and record biodiversity along with resource dependency surveys, gaining hands on experience in the very field I have long aspired to work in.
