About sivalingam gopinath:
Aerospace / Mechanical Engineer with 17 years of experience in the field of Computational Fluid Dynamics, Thermal management , Qualification & Testing in Aerospace and Consumer electronics
Experience
- HCL Technologies ( 2013 - Till now ) A. Designed and optimized chip-to-system thermal solutions for high-performance electronic devices including servers, laptops, and photonics modules—for clients such as Microsoft, Intel, Cisco, and Xscape Photonics. Led thermal simulations using ANSYS Icepak, Flotherm, Flotherm XT, and FLUENT to drive effective cooling strategies, optimize component layouts, and guide fan/blower selection. B. Developed custom heatsinks, liquid cold plates (LCPs), and thermal interface strategies that balanced space, cost, power, and performance requirements across multi-board platforms. Specialized in IP68-rated sealed enclosure thermal design, enabling robust thermal performance in waterproof, dustproof, and rugged environments.
- IGNIS Aerospace ( 2011-2013 ) Led the first outsourced Indian fighter aircraft CFD project – the LCA Navy Mk2 – and successfully delivered it to the customer, setting a benchmark in indigenous aerospace engineering. The project involved generating high-quality structured volume meshes (Navier–Stokes and Euler) over a complex combat aircraft configuration.
- ADA ( DRDO ) - 2008-2011 Aerodynamic Improvement Studies are done in order to reduce the supersonic drag of TEJAS PV2 aircraft, (i.e., Reshaping of Inboard, Midboard, Outboard and under fuselage Pylon located under the wing of an aircraft) and aerodynamic Clearance for TEJAS with stores:
