A brief introduction of myself ● I’m Sumathi Shivashankar, a B.com graduate from Bangalore University with a diploma in child psychology, ● I began my Montessori career in the year 1997 by obtaining a diploma in Montessori method of education associated with AMI, Netherlands the age group of 2 to 12 years children. ● I’m serving as a Montessori consultant in schools and also conduct workshops on Montessori Method for parents and teachers. ● I organize orientation programs on the Montessori philosophy of child development for teachers and parents in different institutions in India. ● My service as an assistant Montessori administrator at Indian Montessori Training Courses, Bangalore gave me good experience ● Since 2000, I have been training many teachers in the Montessori Method of education by which many are working in different schools and few have established their own schools in Karnataka. ● I’m an institutional member of Indian Montessori Training Courses, Bangalore. ● I’m associated with different Montessori organisations in India and participating in conferences, seminars and workshops, which has built a strong foundation in helping teachers apply the Integrated Method of education and philosophy to work with children. ● I am very good at setting up the environment for preschool or Anganwadis. ● I have developed curriculum for different institution, ● I have helped other institutions for designing books for pre-kg children which is already in use in different schools all over India, ● I have trained Anganwadi teachers in Tamil Nada and Karnataka. ● I have created hands-on activities with the best out of waste for the children 2-6 age group. ● According to my knowledge I strongly believe that education is a natural process carried out by individuals and is acquired not by just listening to words but it can be followed only by experience in the Montessori way of teaching and also with a specially prepared environment for the children's overall development. ● At present working as a master trainer at square panda India
