Role Summary: Engineering Manager, Store Applications is a new exciting opportunity to join our growing store technology team. This will be a high impact highly visible position collaborating with other engineering teams across the organization. The Engineering Manager, Store Applications will lead a team of developers and data engineers and will be responsible for architecture, development and implementation of a portfolio of enterprise applications. Position will be a great fit for a hands-on engineering leader who enjoys the challenge of navigating complexity and solving business problems with technology.
Role Description:
● Lead a team of on-shore and off-shore resources responsible for maintaining a portfolio of private and commercial applications for our stores ecosystem
● Manage a portfolio of back-end services for store applications
● Develop data pipelines and maintain integrations
● Works closely with product management to intake new requests/requirements and discern them into technology solutions to deliver business results
● Continuously contribute to store technology roadmap evolution
● Serve as a software engineering subject matter expert within store applications group
● Participate in incident response and resolution
● Participate in incident post-mortems and root cause analysis activates
● Participate in vendor selection and management activities
● Participate in large scale software implementation projects
● Interface and collaborate with number of IT divisions as well as business units across the organization
Key Qualifications:
● . Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or equivalent level of demonstrated work experience
● 10+ years of overall information technology experience
● 7+ years of demonstrated software engineering experience delivering scalable enterprise solutions deployed over public cloud infrastructure
● 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams with ability to help recruit and develop engineering staff
● 3+ years of experience contributing to technology roadmaps and system architecture planning
● Strong hands On experience in .net and React Framework
● Advanced level programming skill set in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Python, C#
● Experience in at least one of the major front end development frameworks is highly desirable
● Advance level SQL skill set and solid understanding of design best practices for horizontally scalable high IO data intensive applications
● Mastery of SDLC and CI/CD best practices
● Strong expertise in IaaS and PaaS offerings, tooling and best practices for at least one of the big three public cloud providers. AWS preferred
● Demonstrated experience of building scalable micro services
● Demonstrated experience building data pipelines
● Demonstrated knowledge of application security best practices
Preferred Qualifications (nice to haves):
● Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to create high quality technical documentation, architectural diagrams and SOWs
● Experience managing offshore or fully remote teams is highly desirable
● Brick-and-mortar retail or ecommerce industry experience will be a major advantage but not required
