PROCESS CHEMIST:

Syrup preparation:

1. Clear understanding of syrup preparation, corresponding instruments testing, operation and calibration.
2. Use only current Beverage documents.
3. Closely involve and coordinate effectively to avoid situation of under mature and over mature syrup use.
4. Ensure tank CIP before batch commencement.
5. Ensure correct weighment of sugar, activated carbon & hyflo.
6. Ensure clarity of simple syrup during startup, middle & end of filtration.
7. Carryout testing of simple syrup for clarity, color (ICUMSA), turbidity, AOT, sediment and other relevant parameters.
8. Follow documented procedure to meet specifications of simple syrup.
9. Monitor & control concentrate staging.
10. Achieve standard brix & volume of final syrup. Ensure final syrup release criteria.
11. Monitor & control sugar delta, sugar and concentrate yield.
12. Monitor cleaning & sanitation practices. Maintain GMP & enhance housekeeping practices in ready syrup room/ raw syrup room and sugar godown.
13. Exercise control measures to maintain CCP intact in syrup area.
14. Effectively manage and comply with CIP standard as well as fortnightly sanitation.
15. System compliance by meeting AIB & QAS requirements of syrup preparation. Monitor and control Minimum Mandate.
16. Make sure that strainers are inspected periodically and are of proper screen size. Ensure that damaged/torn strainers are not in use in sugar dumping and syrup lines.
17. Send sugar/syrup samples for external lab testing as per PepsiCo requirement.
18. Track, report and control cost of C&C of syrup process.
19. Documentation and record keeping.
