We are seeking for our client in Guinea Conakry (Expatriation Contract) a dedicated Agricultural Planning Consultant to bring their expertise to our project in Boké. As a consultant, you will be a pillar in operational advice and field support, focusing on the development and management of innovative agricultural infrastructure for rice cultivation. With your specialization in rural planning and rice cultivation, your mission will be to design and implement irrigation, drainage, and landscape management systems to maximize the potential of our several-hundred-hectare project. With your field experience, you will bring efficiency and innovation, guiding our efforts in line with key performance indicators.
Responsibilities
Provide consultancy on the design and implementation of sustainable agricultural planning for rice cultivation, optimizing land and water resource use.
Develop recommendations for irrigation systems suited to rice fields, promoting efficient water management and minimal environmental impact.
Work closely with agronomists to integrate cutting-edge agronomic practices into yield development strategies.
Monitor and advise on the construction and maintenance of agricultural infrastructure.
Perform thorough analysis of land to align agricultural practices with sustainable production goals.
Offer technical expertise on soil fertility, flood control, and drainage.
Train and mentor field teams to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of installations.
Qualifications and Skills
Significant experience in agricultural land development, ideally in the rice cultivation sector.
Proven project management skills and team leadership.
In-depth knowledge of irrigation systems and water management techniques in agriculture.
Proficiency in the use of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Ability to work in the field in rural environments and adapt to various cultural contexts.
Effective communication in French or English, with the ability to write clear technical reports.
Education in rural engineering, land planning, or equivalent, with a specialization in rice cultivation being a major asset.
