- Lead and manage the entire legal function for the Real Estate division, overseeing a team of lawyers and paralegals
- Provide strategic legal counsel and guidance to the Real Estate business leadership on all aspects of their operations, including acquisitions, development, leasing, financing, and regulatory compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents, including purchase agreements, construction contracts, leases, loan agreements, and joint venture agreements
- Conduct thorough due diligence on potential real estate transactions and investments.
- Manage legal risks associated with the Real Estate division's activities and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Stay up-to-date on evolving real estate laws and regulations and ensure the company's compliance.
- Represent the company in legal matters related to the Real Estate division, including negotiations and litigation (may involve working with external counsel)
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the Real Estate division and other business units.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient legal team environment.
- Law degree (LL.B. or equivalent) from a reputed institution
- Minimum 15 years of experience in a senior legal role, preferably within the Real Estate industry
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex real estate transactions
- In-depth knowledge of real estate law, regulations, and best practices
- Strong understanding of real estate development, financing, and leasing processes
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and work independently
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Client-focused approach and ability to build strong relationships
- A keen understanding of the business of real estate and its commercial realities
