You will be working as Mechanical Engineer at Global Grade 13, reporting to the Business Manager for Motion business area, System Drives division based in Bangalore, India. You will be responsible for supporting our global R&D organization from the concept phase to the productization with crucial investigations. You will be working with world-class technology in demanding product development projects as a part of a highly skilled and motivated team

Your responsibilities

• Advanced calculation and simulation expertise on medium voltages frequency converters (Structural, FEM, vibration, fatigues, thermal or cooling, fluid and Air) including system calculation, combination of Electro-Mechanical physical phenomena (incl. arcing, EMS, magnetic field...)
• Cost analysis and maintenance of the global cost material and supplier data base relevant for our medium voltage converters
• Chasing, assessing, proposing, innovative and modern production technology in collaboration with our SCM organization and our MVD Research and Development department
• Assessing product sustainability and run respective analysis
• Supporting the manufacturability investigations of our convertors with our suppliers (feasibility, testing, qualification, quality tracking...)
• Proposing advanced production workflow (automation or similar)

Your background

• Bachelor's degree or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Research and Development in mechanical and power electronic environment
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical engineering: design for manufacturing, production, assembly
• Experience in modern and digital HW should cost analysis and design to value methodology (DFM/DFA/DFx...)
• Good experience in CAD Creo7 (or above) and some affinity with PTC PLM Windchill cloud, aPriori, Ansys
