- The candidate will be responsible for preparing various monthly, quarterly, and yearly federal, state and local indirect tax returns. These include sales & use tax, gross receipts tax, Canadian GST/HST/QST, payroll tax, unemployment insurance, worker's compensation and other indirect tax returns as needed.
- E filing and E-payment of US & Canadian indirect tax returns.
- Prepare summary schedules for electronic deposit of US and Canadian payroll taxes.
- Well versed with tools and techniques of Tax Reconciliation.
- Should have good knowledge of Tax Exemption Certificates.
- Should be well versed with Sabrix/OneSource Tax Engine and Oracle ERP.
- Have experience in Business License renewals when due.
- Should have analytical skills to do root cause analysis of transactions when required.
- Have experience in providing cross functional (AR and AP) tax advisory support.
- Involvement in various internal projects like mergers & acquisitions. Analysing the tax implications and state laws in this regard for ensuring that accuracy of tax compliance work is not impacted.
- Correspond with state and local tax authorities via telephone and in writing to resolve tax issues.
- Maintaining & updating the compliance tracker.
- Other projects / assignments as required.
- 4-6 years of experience in US INDIRECT tax compliance in the industry/company is preferred.
- MBA, M.com, BBA, B.COM
- In-depth knowledge of US sales & use tax.
- Familiarity with Canadian GST/HST/QST and payroll tax.
- Candidate should have exposure to working with industry/ Company.
- Good verbal and written business English communication skills.
