Position

This position is for Linux Administrator who will be part of Riverbed India IT Application Delivery and Services team. The main job function is to maintain and support Linux servers in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Working in flexible timing model, this role will be engaging and working with different teams globally and provide required support.

What you will do

Architect, design, and implement scalable, highly available, and secure cloud solutions on OCI, focusing on Linux-based workloads.
Implement and maintain security best practices in Linux environments, including patch management, access controls, and vulnerability management.

Manage and maintain OCI environments, with a strong focus on networking, compute, and storage servicesInstall operating system/security patches periodically as supplied by the OEM in coordination with the database administrator and the applications support staff.

Provide support during qtr-end operations.
Integrate cloud systems with existing DevOps processes, ensuring seamless deployment, monitoring, and scaling.
Develop and maintain automation scripts, employing tools such as Shell, Python, or Perl to streamline cloud management tasks.
Collaborate with security teams to ensure encryption and secure network protocols are employed where necessary.
Provide expertise and support in network architecture and services, including Virtual Networks, VPN, Load Balancers, and Network Security Groups.
Develop and maintain documentation and SOPs for cloud environments and deployments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to compliance requirements.
Provide mentorship and guidance to other team members and participate in technical knowledge sharing

What makes you an ideal candidate

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Minimum of 7-9 years of experience in Oracle LINUX Administration, system software installation, customization, and support in Oracle Cloud (OCI) and On-Prem Infrastructure.

Proven work experience as a Linux Administrator or a similar role.
Industry certifications, such as Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), are highly desired.
Strong understanding of server hardware and experience in server management.
Experience with configuration management tools, such as Ansible or Puppet, is a plus.
Experience in cloud platforms, such as OCI(Preferred), AWS or Azure, is mandatory.
Familiarity with monitoring tools like Nagios or Zabbix is a plus.
Ability to adapt to new technologies and stay updated with industry trends and advancements in Linux administration.
Proficient in Linux command-line interface (CLI) and shell scripting.

Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and services, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and VPN.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues.

Strong communication skills to effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Willing to work in shifts and provide on-call support when required.
OCI Professional Certification is preferred.
