    Skill- DB2 DBA SME/ Architect

    Experience Range years

    Location- Hyderabad and Pune

    Mode of Work- WFO, 5 days in a week

    Shift Timing- 5:30PM to 2:30AM

    Job Purpose

    Role provides mentoring and day-to-day leadership in the planning and strategy, architecture, deployment, and operation of DB2 database systems.

    The individual must have a strong understanding of data structures, database systems and procedures and the range of analytical tools used to undertake a range of different types of statistical analyses.

    Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to data security and integrity. Assesses current and projected database performance and recommends changes and enhancements.

    Ensure best practices and standards are met and maintained in the development of new databases. Supervise installation, migration, and upgrade of databases.

    Maintain database disaster recovery procedures to ensure continuous availability and speedy recovery. Create and maintain standard procedures to enhance scalability and performance of existing database architectures.

    This position will require regular interfacing with development teams to integrate databases with other applications.

    Updates leadership on progress, issues, and pending decisions with regular status meetings. Participates in the development of short and long-term strategic initiatives in the Unix and Windows Open Systems, Database, Storage and Cloud spaces.

    Required

    DB2 Server administration at the system level.

    Creating instances.

    Creating databases

    Troubleshooting performance problems

    Managing backups

    Understanding of security roles

    Unix and Windows command line experience

    Database administration at the application level

    Knowledge of SQL language

    Understanding of database objects such as tables, views, triggers, etc.

    Query tuning experience.

    Preferred

    Ability to read and understand stored procedures.

    Powershell & Kornshell scripting experience.

    Experience with a third-part monitoring software.

    Nagios experience desired.

    Experience with change management software.

    BMC Remedy experience desired.

    Experience administrating any other RDBMS.

    Education and Experience

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or directly related year for year work experience.

    10+ years of professional industry-relevant experience working on infrastructure teams in a corporate environment.
