    Principal Engineer, Systems (Controls)

    Summary

    A seasoned Systems professional with sound experience in Control algorithms development and Model-based-design (MBD) of System/sub-system primarily using Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow framework for new product development.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    This position works within the product design & development team and plays key role in evolution of product design by supporting through Controls/algorithms development and Model-based design in an NPD of medical product to deliver the therapy. .

    The key technical competencies include, but not limited to the following –

    Sound expertise in Controls/Algorithms development for new products.

    Creating model-based-design for complex systems/sub-systems for the required product functionality.

    Embedded Control Loop expertise

    Embedded world knowledge (i.e., RTOS, interfaces)

    Matlab-Simulink- State flow proven deep Developer knowledge.

    Code version expertise (git)

    System integration and testing in physical prototypes.

    Product Requirements – Ability to understand & translate user needs/product requirements to concepts and design. Knowledge of multi-level Requirements structure ( PRD, FRS, SRS, HRS, ....)

    Testing automation exposure

    Leverages knowledge of technology, process, and/or therapy domains to drive solutions and product design realization from a systems perspective.

    Participate in identifying and planning tasks, activities, and resourcing needs related to his/her area.

    Soft skills to effectively work in a cross-functional team environment.

    Desirable:

    Working knowledge of standards IEC SW development process for medical devices);

    Awareness of Good Documentation Practice.

    Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated track record to possess expert level technical competencies stated above.
  • Able to guide a team of juniors in these areas to achieve the desired outcomes.
  • Must possess sound knowledge of systems engineering principles as applicable to his/her area.
  • Working knowledge of Product development processes, Standards applicable to Systems Engineering and relevant documentation to be generated.
  • Proven ability to create results within budget, timeline, and product/project deliverable.
  • Education and/or Experience:

    A bachelor's or higher engineering degree in Electrical/ Electronics, Biomedical or related discipline with overall 10-15 years of relevant experience. Prior experience in Medical/Renal device domain is a plus.
