Job Description
We seek a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Assurance (Q&A) Engineer with expertise in testing PowerShell for Windows and Bash scripts for MacOS. As a Q&A Engineer specializing in scripting languages, you will ensure our software products' reliability, functionality, and performance, which rely heavily on PowerShell and Bash scripts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation and scripting languages and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
**Key Responsibilities: **
1. **Script Testing: **
Design, develop, and execute comprehensive PowerShell and Bash Remote Actions test plans in Nexthink.
Conduct thorough testing to ensure scripts meet functional and performance requirements.
Identify and report defects and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
Build and maintain test environments to account for any use case. These include physical devices, virtual machines, Azure instances, SCCM, Intune, Jamf...
2. **Automation:**
Leverage automation tools and frameworks to create and execute automated tests for PowerShell and Bash scripts.
3. **Collaboration:**
Collaborate with software developers, delivery consultants, service delivery managers, and other stakeholders.
Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide insights on script quality and test results.
4. **Documentation:**
Create and maintain detailed documentation for test cases, plans, and testing procedures related to PowerShell and Bash scripts ran as Remote Actions in Nexthink.
Create and maintain detailed documentation on testing results, requirements, and functionality.
Contribute to the development of best practices for scripting within the organization.
5. **Performance Testing:**
Conduct performance testing on scripts to meet scalability and efficiency requirements.
Identify and address performance bottlenecks and inefficiencies in scripts.
6. **Nexthink:**
Experience with Nexthink is desired, although in-house training will be provided.
