    Role Description

    This is a full-time on-site role for a Public Relations and Outreach Manager. The Public Relations and Outreach Manager will be responsible for day-to-day press releases, media relations, communication, public relations, and strategic communications. The manager will be responsible for long term positioning and branding of the institution.

    JD: Outreach and PR Manager

    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Outreach and PR Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing outreach strategies to promote our brand and maintain positive relationships with the public, media, and other stakeholders. This role requires a combination of creativity, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills.

    Responsibilities

    1. Develop Outreach Strategies

    Create comprehensive outreach plans to increase brand visibility and awareness.

    Identify target audiences and develop tailored communication strategies to engage with them effectively.

    Collaborate with internal teams to align outreach efforts with overall marketing objectives.

    2. Media Relations

    Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and influencers.

    Pitch story ideas, press releases, and other media materials to secure coverage in relevant publications.

    Monitor media coverage and track PR metrics to assess the effectiveness of outreach efforts.

    3. Content Creation

    Create compelling content, including press releases, articles, blog posts, and social media posts.

    Ensure that all content adheres to brand guidelines and effectively communicates key messages.

    Coordinate with graphic designers, writers, and other team members to produce high-quality materials.

    4. Event Management

    Plan and execute PR events, such as press conferences, product launches, and promotional activities.

    Coordinate logistics, manage vendor relationships, and ensure events run smoothly.

    Leverage events as opportunities to generate positive media coverage and engage with key stakeholders.

    5. Social Media Management:

    Develop and implement social media strategies to enhance brand visibility and engagement.

    Monitor social media channels, respond to inquiries, and manage online reputation.

    Analyze social media metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.

    6. Community Engagement:

    Identify opportunities for community outreach and engagement initiatives.

    Partner with local organizations, schools, and community groups to support relevant causes and initiatives.

    Represent the organization at community events and forums.

    7. Crisis Communication

    Develop crisis communication plans and protocols to address potential issues or emergencies.

    Act as a spokesperson for the organization during crises, providing timely and accurate information to the media and the public.

    Implement strategies to mitigate reputational damage and restore trust in the brand.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong skills in Press Releases and Media Relations
    • Excellent Communication skills
    • Proven experience in Public Relations and Strategic Communications
    • Strong network with media outlets, journalists, and social media influencers
    • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Relations, Communications, or related field
    • Experience in a similar role or industry would be beneficial
