    Job Mission:

    Responsibilities:

    As Compliance Manager at TerraPay, your primary responsibilities will include:

    • Acting as the compliance subject matter expert regarding the Visa / Mastercard scheme rules and requirements, advising on them and or translating them into business controls
    • Acting as a trusted compliance resource regarding associated wider regulatory requirements such as PSD2
    • Communicating with TerraPay team colleagues to help them where necessary to acquire a good understanding of scheme requirements regarding existing/new products and supporting their implementation as necessary as a key stakeholder.
    • Working closely with TerraPay teams to address any differences in policies and procedures and regional scheme requirements.
    • Working closely with product teams as required ensuring we meet scheme requirements and deliver good outcomes for customers and target markets, and in accordance with TerraPay product governance framework.
    • Conducting compliance monitoring / testing of Visa / MasterCard scheme compliance as part of the wider TerraPay Compliance Monitoring Plan and approach.
    • Advocating strong linkage with TerraPays risk team, supporting the risk management processes
    • Identifying and managing scheme rule / regulatory changes relating to payment service products to ensure these are addressed/implemented in good time.
    • Key stakeholders internal and external engagement and management (including audit , Scheme and FCA regulatory supervisory processes)
    • Understanding and execution of compliance requirements which arise from outsourcing and third parties, including advising on policies, procedures, and compliance controls.

    Qualifications:

    Essential Skills:

    • Preferably direct compliance experience / wider experience in card payments with a technical understanding of VISA / MasterCard scheme rules in the payment services or equivalent financial services space
    • Knowledge and/or experience of associated regulatory requirements, including for example PSD2.
    • Solid background in payments / financial services (Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience)
    • Experience of Compliance processes and some knowledge of compliance frameworks
    • Good understanding of organizational structures, and FS firms policies and procedures.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Project management skills an advantage.
    • Well-developed interpersonal skills to provide a high level of service and maintain working relationships.
    • Self-motivated, confident and capable of working both independently and in a team environment.
    • Educated to degree level (in Legal, Finance or related subject) (Additional professional compliance qualification/accreditation an advantage)
    • A track record of good achievement (within current work experience)
    • Previous experience in a small firm, fintech or scale-up environment (an advantage)
