    Description

    Key Responsibilities

    Design and Development

    • Develop ETL processes using IBM DataStage to extract, transform, and load data from various data sources to data warehouses or other target systems.
    • Create and maintain data integration solutions to support business requirements.
    • Develop complex DataStage jobs and sequences, ensuring efficient performance and scalability.

    Data Management

    • Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the ETL process.
    • Implement and monitor data quality checks to ensure accurate data transfer.
    • Perform data analysis and troubleshoot data-related issues as needed.

    Performance Optimization

    • Optimize ETL processes for performance and scalability.
    • Monitor and tune DataStage jobs to ensure optimal performance.
    • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in ETL processes.

    Collaboration and Communication

    • Work closely with business analysts, data architects, and other stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
    • Collaborate with other developers and team members to ensure consistent and reliable data integration solutions.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.

    Documentation and Compliance

    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for DataStage jobs, processes, and workflows.
    • Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
    • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

    Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Experience:
    • Experience in ETL development using IBM DataStage.
    • Strong experience in data integration, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
    • Proven experience with SQL and database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, DB2).
    • Skills:
    • Proficiency in IBM DataStage including design, development, and optimization of DataStage jobs.
    • Strong understanding of ETL concepts, data modeling, and data warehousing principles.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Good communication and collaboration skills.
    • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with other ETL tools and data integration technologies.
    • Knowledge of cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
    • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
