About the role
Daera is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to oversee the operations of our furniture manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the entire production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely delivery of our products. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes within the furniture industry.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and implement production schedules to meet project demands and optimize resource utilization.
· Supervise and allocate resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of orders.
· Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to maintain adequate stock levels.
· Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that products meet industry standards and client expectations.
· Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
· Provide leadership and guidance to the production team, including supervisors, carpenters, and polishers.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all employees. Implement safety protocols, conduct regular inspections, and provide training on safe work practices.
· Develop and manage the production budget, monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Implement cost-control measures while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Attributes
· Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, business administration, or a related field.
· 10 years+ experience in production management, preferably in the furniture manufacturing industry.
· Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies used in furniture production.
· Proficiency in various materials is essential, with wood being paramount. Familiarity with metal, glass, resin, and stone is added advantage.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
