    Job Description: A Special Educator plays a crucial role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs within our school setting at Kunskapsskolan school. Special educators work collaboratively with other educators, parents, and support staff to ensure that students with neurodiverse needs or special learning requirements receive appropriate accommodations and access to quality education. This role requires dedication, flexibility, and a passion for helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Candidates should have a Post-Graduation/Graduation degree in Psychology or Diploma in Special education.
    • Strong understanding of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and other relevant special education laws and regulations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Development:

    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including parents, teachers, and specialists, to assess students' strengths and areas of improvement.
    • Develop and maintain individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
    • Specialized Instruction:
    • Create and implement differentiated lesson plans and teaching strategies tailored to individual student needs.

    Assessment and Progress Monitoring:

    • Regularly assess students' academic, social, and behavioral progress and adjust instructional plans accordingly.
    • Keep accurate records of students' progress and share this information with parents and other relevant stakeholders.

    Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with other teachers to provide support in the mainstream classroom.
    • Work closely with other professionals, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists, to address students' comprehensive needs.

    Behavior Management:

    • Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to support students in developing appropriate social and behavioral skills.

    Assistive Technology:

    • Utilize and provide training on assistive technology and adaptive materials to enhance students' learning experiences.

    Professional Development:

    • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and legal requirements related to special education.
    • Attend professional development sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
